Who watchin AHS 1984 tonight?

The first season was incredible. Every other season I made it about 3-4 episodes and lost interest. Maybe this year will be better

I feel like I've seen some pretty low effort OTs, nothing against that either, I think sometimes someone just wants to get something up to get the ball rolling. I think for a TV show you don't need a lot of photoshop work, maybe some promotional images and some blurbs about the current and previous seasons or something.
 
I only watched seasons 1 & 2, but I adore 80's slasher movies so I feel that It would be a sin for me not to see this.

My only issue is that I don't like skipping episodes of a show, and since I have missed 7 whole seasons here, it will bug me a lot whilst watching :/

It's an anthology thing. Each season is its own thing.

Nope. It's all self contained. Well at least it was when I stopped watching during season 5. Doubt they'd change it now.

Sometimes you get easter eggs and last season they did feature a few characters from two previous seasons but they're still self-contained stories.

I feel like every season I think maybe this time it'll be good...that lasts about 2-3 episodes each season. S1 was solid, and I enjoyed S2 right up to the last couple episodes...everything after that is and should be forgotten.
 
It looks better than Cult And Apocalypse. Both were absolute dog shit. I cannot even fathom how I sat through both of those.
I'll be honest, though, I'm a huge sucker for anything 80s related.
 
Oh cool, I wont watch live but do we know when the episodes will be up for streaming?
Show is very hit or miss but overall I like AHS.

I watched through Roanoke, the premise of Cult was ridiculous so I skipped it and haven't watched since. Asylum is the best, Lady Gaga was sexy as hell in Hotel. Might end up watching this season, I'll check out the first couple episodes to see what it's like.
 
Season 2 is still the best. the Witches one was absolute horseshit. The Carnivale-like one was really creepy as fuck. The hotel one with Lady gaga was eh. Stopped right there, not sure if I'll bother with this.

So far this season "1984" is very good. They did an amazing job capturing the 80s

Then again, every season starts off great. The first episode at least. But I only ever stuck around to the end for a handful

Yea it was a decent episode. But, I still prefer the older AHS seasons.
 
Season 1 had a good spooky atmosphere and some cool parts like the school shooting but the rest of it was full of random asspulls which ruined it for me. Season 2 is where I gave up. The atmosphere and location were good again but I didn't care much for the story or any of the campy Ryan Murphy stuff.

Scream Queens season 1 was the same deal for me. I enjoyed the individual characters, Chad Radwell was hilarious and Emma was great, but the story was completely ridiculous and killed the show.

Ryan Murphy's story telling abilities leave a lot to be desired.

Here is an idea I came up with while RPing as Ryan Murphy...

"A gay Frankenstein's monster(Matt Bomer), assembled by a sexy scientist (Lady Gaga), who is sent to hunt down and collect the blood of teens so she can create a new love potion to unleash the 4 horsewomen of hell (Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Jazz Jennings) and bring on the sexpocalypse."

Lesbians in like the first 2 seconds. Amazing. Just like an 80s film. The synth music was terrible, the opening looked like a shitty youtube video complete with the fake VHS filter everybody uses. Felt like an a modern tv show trying to pretend it was from the 80s. Pretty cringe. I'll watch until Emma gets killed off.
The gore was nice.

Just caught up and saw this theory that what we're seeing is actors playing part in a movie. And Brooke might be actress Madison Montgomery who was said to have killed the director.

Which would make sense given how over the top the blood is and full 80's trope which makes it seem unconnected to all other seasons at this point.
