Why are all series finales unsatisfying or shitty?

I think the sopranos disciple shows (mad men and boardwalk) will have amazing finales.

Mad Men's season finale's have generally been terrible. I don't have that much confidence in a series finale. And lol, so what designates shows to be a "sopranos disciple" - I would say Breaking Bad had more in common with Sopranos (in terms of influence) - than Boardwalk or Mad Men.

American Horror Story: Asylum had an A+ ending.

BB had a B ending.

The Wire had an A-/B+ ending imo.

BSG was a B-

The Wire's ending wasn't that great. Breaking Bad's was much better. Also, the Wire's final season was a step down compared to the rest of the season. I would argue the first half of Season 5 of Breaking Bad was also a step down. But the last 8 episodes were easily some of the best.

So yeah, Breaking Bad's final run of episodes + finale was definitely better than the Wire. Don't get me wrong, I think the Wire overall is technically a better show. But I've always thought the final season was a step down from the rest. And the ending just wasn't that great.

Also wtf. I loved American Horror Story, but...

I thought breaking bad had great ending even if you saw it coming.

My favorite endings would have to be shield, the true (first) ending to futurama I still tear up when Lela says she wants him to play it again. Also the end of season 5 of supernatural tied up everything but then it came back.

And the Seinfeld ending was awful for a show about nothing it tried to end with a plot. Trying to tie up loose ends on a show that doesn't have continuity really doesn't work. What made each episode work was they didn't care about the lives they ruined they just moved on and reset to zero like any 90s sitcom.

Also smallville had awful ending all we wanted was Clark in the suit. You had one job WB

Battlestar Galactica is not only my #1 favorite show of all time, I loved it's finale too, one of the best
30 Rock had a decent finale, and the Office, while struggling in it's final years, ended really well
Lost has the worst trash finale of anything I've ever scene, just 2 hours of sewage dump television (which fits with the rest of season 6)
Soprano's had a terrible ending
Seinfeld was mediocre and didn't fit the rest of the awesome show

Mad Men's season finale's have generally been terrible. I don't have that much confidence in a series finale. And lol, so what designates shows to be a "sopranos disciple" - I would say Breaking Bad had more in common with Sopranos (in terms of influence) - than Boardwalk or Mad Men.

They're both created by former Sopranos writers.
