While it's a bit garish, I rather prefer it over our old design. The inserts are quite nice, albeit a bit too self-important. I could do without the quotes. I would love to have a more modern look to our passports and money, but they really wouldn't go over well in our country. There are a fairly large group of individuals that have a pretty antiquated way of thinking and would protest and rant about it being un-American, especially in this day and age.

Just FYI you salty American tacky passport people, Australia's passports have like holographic emus and kangaroos, are water proof and come with a personal message from the queen of England about how cool we are and how everyone should help us move through countries. It also has a NFC chip and it comes with a snug case that includes information handbooks about your rights and important organizations/phone numbers you can call.

That's not Norway's actual passport design. It was a concept for a competition and though it won, they'll have to

work closely with the National Police Directorate to find a way to balance the design with the complicated security expectations of a passport - something they are not currently able to discuss in detail. No date for the passport’s release has been set but it is expected to be within the next two years.
