Why are shitty sites like Buzzfeed and Reddit so popular?

Reddit at least easily shows when people quoted you. GAF's hateboner for the site is getting tiring, this superiority complex is ridiculous.

Never checked Buzzfeed but I really like Reddit. Love the cosmopolitan feel and the massive userbase always makes sure there's interesting content.
Huge timesink when you start browsing your favourite subs and they're not shy about adult stuff either.

I dunno, compared to Reddit Neogaf feels a bit like a small quaint village.. Somewhat nice and cozy and you know your neighbours by name but also quite petty, small minded and with very restrictive boundaries.

For those of you complaining about Reddit's layout and topic system, either download Sync for your phones or download Readit for Windows 8/10 store. Those two apps fix everything and actually makes it better than both the original website version and Neogaf's layout itself.

I don't know too much about BuzzFeed except click bait articles, but Reddit is at least user maintained for the most part and is entertaining if you find the right stuff.

I think you're quite ill-informed if you're going to box Buzzfeed and Reddit together, OP. Reddit is fucking awesome and quite possibly the best site on the internet, in my opinion.

One's experience with Reddit is literally what you make of it. I'm subscribed to only a handful of subreddits - Audiodramas, Podcasts, Indiegaming, iOS Gaming, Colorized History, Game Dev, Perfect Loops - and I rarely ever venture into the rest of Reddit. That approach is definitely the ideal way to deal with Reddit: just sub to stuff you're interested in

I absolutely hate the layout of Reddit but clearly the strength of the site is that you can find people to discuss pretty much any topic with.

Now if I can only figure out how to read it I might appreciate it more.

Comicbooks, woahdude, mildlyinteresting, nosleep, futurology are pretty cool too.

Reddit is awesome as long you have found the Subreddit you are looking for.

this are my usual hangouts for entertainment

r/manga
r/squaredcircle

avoid toxic subreddits and the place is really fucking great

Reddit is one of the best places in the internet. Stay away from the crap subreddits, it really isn't that hard.

People like different things.

I never go to Buzzfeed's site now that I think about it, but I have watched some of the related videos that show up on YouTube and thought they were funny. Reddit, I just never had a need to use or care about.

To this day, I am unsure as to how Reddit works. The design format of that website confuses me.

Reddit's layout is a nightmare. Like, worse than tumblr's, and that's saying something.

Quoting myself from a bit ago to help you:

Unless for some reason you have me blocked, then I guess it is what it is.

Nowadays rare to post on Neogaf cos of Reddit. I think I used be 5-8 post a day, but now maybe 1-2 a weeks.

I think a lot of people here are missing out on Reddit's subreddit. lol

Also download Reddit Enhancement Suite extention (res). To make it look simple + darkmode

Some on Reddit hate NeoGAF. Some on NeoGAF hate Reddit. Those of us who find something to love about both just scratch our heads at all the mud-slinging.
