Why are you buying a Rev?

It is part of the USW ordinance.

None of the announced game interest me. Then again, none of the x360 games intesteted me at first, and I ended up liking most of the games I bought.

50+ posts and I'm shocked that half of them aren't "I'm not"...

Amazing backward compatability + Cheap + Nintendo exclusives are my reasons.

i can justify the purchase if i think of it as $200 Mario game with a free wacky console.

Unless the mario game turns out to be as crappy and SMS.

I'm probably going to buy it mostly for gamecube games that I know are great (metroid prime, ikaruga, zelda, etc.), and also for the possability that revolution games might be good as well.

Games. It's all about games. Nintendo has never let me down before.

Oh, and I don't care about graphics. A game could have the worst graphics EVER and yet be the most fun you've ever had. I point out all the 8 bit games that everyone goes crazy about.

Pretty much the only way I would get one is if Efralope promised to get a PS3 as well.
With the price differental, you sure made out on that deal!

For Metroid and Zelda, possibly Mario, and hopefully more Fire Emblem. And if they keep the price point low, I won't feel too bad about letting the system sit idle between major Nintendo releases (at least not the way I would if I spent $400+ on it, anyway.) Rev just seems like the ideal system to own in addition to (as opposed to in place of) the Xbox 360 and/or PS3.

Zelda. And assuming its going to be less than $150. It will keep me busy till PS3 drops in price. That way I've got the best of both worlds.

because it will be cheap (hopefully) and as a result will fill my second console spot. Plus I'm expecting it to get a lot of very Japan-centric support, which would be nice for my tastes in games.

Because I've seen so many of the wonderful looking games that are in development, and I am able to make an even quasi-educated purchasing decision based on this........uhh, right?

I don't think I will. Nothing interesting. PS3 and Xboxen 360 for the win for me.

You don't find changing the fundemental way people play videogames interesting?

Not enough 'whatever' mapping to keep you interested?

Because Nintendo has never done me wrong. The GameCube may be a failure in market analysts (and apparently Nintendo's) eyes, but it's my most-played system.

I have a DS, its ok... but I feel like they are just making "different" games for the sake of it.

That's fair enough man. I'm just really excited to play a game like pilotwings or metroid with the new controller. :)

I am wondering because people seem to want to buy it no matter how much of a "dissapointment" it is. Are you buying it for the backwards comatibilty, the wifi, or the controller or is there another reason.
and for Zelda and Metroid

When it's dirt fuckin' cheap and has a wealth of non-waggle games I'll consider it.
liar

Well, I gotta have my Nintendo game fix so that's one reason. Another is that I'm excited for the prospect the Revmote can bring to the table. Not to mention the awesomeness that will be the virtual console. It's also going to be affordable and I plan on buying all 3 systems regardless.

Those are my reasons

See, I dont get you why you guys fall for the remote like you did the DS dual screen. Dual screen didnt change shit, its a big ass map screen. Congrats, youre about to get your second sucker punch.

At least some of you are honest in your unhealthy console purchasing habits, but dont pretend Nintendo is doing anything good to you. Thats just stupid.

They do NOTHING but fail to deliever over and fucking over, yet you guys line the fuck up every god damned time.

i think the dual screen is mostly pointless too. that's not what convinced me to get a DS though. Wifi play and the touchscreen are what make the DS worthwhile for me.

the years i've spent playing their fun games from the Game Boy days right up to the present disagree with this. why are you getting your panties in a twist over what other people do anyway?

Because I can't play Metroid on the PS3 I'm also going to buy, mostly. That and the Gamecube and PS2 games that I'd like to continue playing.

(Translation: Eat me, 360.)

It'll be 2021 and people will still be replying to MAF and DC bait.

Eh, this is pretty tame bait. I miss the classic MAF "I'm selling my [insert system here]" threads.

1. I expect some good Nintendo games

2. I might finally be able to enjoy a console FPS as I'm hopeful that the craptastic controls becmoes good controls by using the revmote.

The Rev, like the DS, will show its innovations after the first 6-8 months. I fully expect these months will be a testing ground for concepts, then after that we should start seeing some interesting stuff.

Myself, I just don't like the direction the gaming industry is headed and I welcome a different approach. If it works out, then we'll get some fresh ideas, and if not, well, I'll have a really kickass looking Virtual Console.

I'll buy a Revolution because I need a new GC (my current one occasionally has some problems, I should probably try cleaning the laser lens), because I prefer to play classic games on my TV instead of emulating them on my PC, and obviously because of Mario, Zelda, Metroid and other Nintendo first party software. They'll still be fun even if they look underwhelming.

I'll get a 360 and/or PS3 once the prices drop, and depending on what games are out for each system.

don't cry. :lol

Where else am I going to play Super Smash Brothers Online? You know, the Super Smash Brothers that WILL have Lil Mac in it IF NINTENDO KNOWS WHAT'S GOOD FOR THEM?

....just sayin'.

Because I love this guy:

Also interested in Rev controller and some other classic downloads.

Nintendo Games.

i may be somewhat irked now... but once nintendo start unveiling the games... im sure I will plunk some cash down... I really hope their games look good on my TV... cause 480p is really ugly on my TV.

please.... nintendo... give me an option to display my games at 720p.

I have absolutely no interest in the remote they're hyping. But I'll consider their next machine *IF* they can release a REAL Mario and StarFox game that are both worthy of their heritage, not because it says Mario or StarFox on the box.

Metroid Prime 3 looks as though it will be a launch game, that will be a good enough reason to purchase a rev. at launch.

I would really like to get a copy of games I never had (or had but were erased due to unfortunate circumstances
Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Terranigma :(
)

Oh, and I must have whatever system the new Zelda and Fire Emblem are on. Online Revolution games should be really fun, and it might make me consider something like Mario Party for the first time in half a decade if I could take people in my house and pit them against another team. I would hope they iron out the problems with these first few DS games. Granted, it's a handheld, but STILL.

But make no mistake, the PS3 is my *real* choice for nextgen. Every multiplatform game that comes out should be superior (and because it's Sony, and they lead the market, cheaper if it bombs
like Beyond Good & Evil
).
