I watch womans hockey and it's awesome, I actually prefer it to the male version. But seriously, I do wonder why as a society we generally ignore woman sports despite the fact that many of them are impressive

In seriousness, I was a coach at the collegiate level once upon a time, albiet for club sports, and I am fine with women's sports.
My best athletes overall were the girls.

To answer the question seriously, men sports are just competitively better in my opinion. The women sports would either have one team dominant or every team is bad and it just looks like their competitive.
The eye candy sport beach volleyball/soccer whatever is cool like every 4 years.

Also, as to op's question, strong looking women are gross as all hell.
- I'll watch women's tennis before I watch men's tennis. (Sorry, Nadal. 
- Half the time I forget there's men's competition in the Olympics. To me, its all about women's gymnastics, volleyball, and figure skating.
- I'm one of THOSE americans who doesn't take much interest in soccer, but I'll watch my friend's daughter play.
The team sports outside of Volleyball bore me. Women's basketball doesn't have the same intensity, women's football seems like a T & A joke right now, and I'm not a fan of hockey.

In most cases men are just way better in it.
But some women sports are great to watch imo. Tennis especially. That's not even because of hot outfits.. just great tennis and competition.

I'd been thinking about this question for a few weeks actually, I'm moving to Norway on Sunday, and to train my ear to the language have been listening to Norwegian radio. The first day I did this was during the Sweden-Denmark semi-final during the Women's Handball Euro, and initially I though it was a men's football game due to the enthusiasm from the crowd and commentators. I swear the guys were having orgasms at the mike, it was hilarious for someone who didn't even understand what they were saying.
Then I understood what it was, and wondered why in France, or to a lesser degree in the US, no one cares about women's sport. In France, apart from tennis (or the Olympics), nobody gives a fuck. I hadn't even heard about the Women's Handball Euro.
The only sport where i believe women excel over men is maybe gymnastics, they seem to be far more elegant then men.
Thats the only sport id pick women over men. Mostly every popular sport male athletes are better to watch. And your mind is not concerned with the hotness, just pure physical ability. This thread demonstrates mens approach to females in sports. They have to be hot to be considered as viewing material huh?

Prine, see my reply just above you. I'll also add here that I'd rather watch women's hockey rather than most other sports, so it's not the hotness that counts for me (though I'll admit it is bonus

I do enjoy women's tennis a bit more than men's tennis. I like their play style, their outfits, their aggressiveness...
I'll also watch volleyball, gymnastics, track n' field, etc. But not basketball, for some reason.

Women's Tennis is the only superior version of the same sport imo. Simply because the action is better since there are less aces and whatnot.

the only women's sports I don't watch are sports like basketball, boxing and softball. the women always look awkward to me in those sports. most other sports are fine. even then, I won't choose to seek them out because them men usually provide a more intense athletic exchange. with the exception of tennis and a few others.
