Why aren't you excited For Honor?

So this game is just going to be a Ryse-style scriptfest? I was under the impression that For Honor would be more in the vein of Chivalry.

I already have Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior which already features those character types. It's far from as good as Medieval Warfare, but it's still great, and will probably still be much better than For Honor if it's anything like Ryse.

People comparing this to Ryse are using the most superficial, shallow metrics... it's embarrassing criticism.

Cause it looks dumb and uninteresting

Dark Souls PVP is popular so they make this game

Yikes. Come on gaf, do better.

At one point, I thought For Honor was a first person sword and shield combat game when it was presented last year. Now it looks like a Western developed Souls style game with laborious gameplay.

Am I getting two games confused for one another, or did they change it considerably?

It reminds me too much of Ryse, which isn't really a bad thing, just that I'm not in the mood for that kind of game. It's on my "buy when it's cheaper" list.

I am excited. In fact it's in my top 5 games of E3. People give Ubisoft too much shit man. Syndicate was good, Siege was good, and The Division is mediocre with some real highs.

I'm hyped as hell for it. The combat looks awesome, vikings, samurai and knights are awesome, and it even has a split screen campaign. I can't wait to play it.

Kinda interested as I have always appreciated games with a historical flair.

It looks like a Chivalry: MW clone with better graphics though, so I'd rather just play that.

I still don't know what these games are about. Too much fluff, having entire games based on a few short ideas with nothing more to show for makes me patient.

It's looks like one of those games that you have to play to know how good it is. Maybe a beta will help me decide how this game is.

I'm kind of excited to play this game since it was announced.

What I don't like is that they went for the horned helmets for the Vikings... that's just kind of pop culture, real Vikings never wore those.

I like the concept, but the actual gameplay looks pretty bland. I also am not a huge fan of the combat system from what I saw at E3.

it just seems you do a frantic dance, then you go in for the kill. Cool multiplayer aspect tho. It looks like a mix of dynasty warriors and dark souls so it kind of throws me off still. I'll still keep a look out during reviews. Also it's a new IP that's not delivering what I want in a video game, so kind of a turn off for me.

I have mixed feelings about this game. The concept sounds great and I do like the look of the combat but I don't know how much content there will be or how varied the gameplay mechanics will be. I know it isn't free-to-play but that's kinda what it feels like.

I enjoyed Ryse and like the idea of playing as a Viking so I'll pick it up, but probably not at full price.

There are a plethora of more promising medieval combat games on the horizon like M&B2 and Mordhau. I don't see much of a reason to get excited over this one.

Last time I heard of that game was when it was still called Slasher and there was an air of secrecy about it. They've come quite far, I'm very impressed.

Why aren't I excited?

1) I've never heard of it
2) Melee combat can be good, or it can play like Assasin's Creed in which case, pass.

This seems like the perfect game to wait for it to be under $30.

This game is a shining example that it should be okay to not make everything out to be a huge AAA release. It's okay to have a mid-tier with a mid-tier budget for the game and marketing. This thing just looks like a mid-tier game with a giant Ubisoft flavored Marketing budget.

A game like this could probably thrive at that $40ish range for a long time, especially if the word of mouth was good.

As it is, I'll wait for the vaunted Ubi-drop in price that happens on all of their games ridiculously quick. Still have to finish AC Syndicate, then Division, and probably Watch Dogs 2, all for way under MSRP.

Hello, my name is Disgraced and I am excited for this video game. I have enjoyed some of the recent video games Ubisoft has produced, this includes (but is not limited to) Watch Dogs & AC: Syndicate.

It looks like a lot of fun. It reminds me of the LOTR: Return of the King video game except bigger and better, and that game was my jam. From what I saw last year, I was sold on playing it at some point.

The Dark Viking Lord Jason VandenBerghe and the rest of its presentation at E3 this year sold me on buying it at launch.

Didn't really know what it was based off of last year's footage. Saw the e3 Ubisoft footage. To me, it looks like Ryse. Ryse is fun, but there's too many other games to be playing. Will wait for sale.

It looks interesting, I'm curious but also pretty dubious. It's Ubisoft for one. For another I absolutely love melee combat and I find most western games are pretty shit at it (with a few notable exceptions).

This game is not doing anything for me just like Siege didn't. My feelings towards the game feel similar. Loved the look but never bought that one and I think primarily it was the lack of a campaign.

Well besides the initial announcement way back when, I knew nothing about it until this E3's trailer which actually showed game play, now I have an idea of what the game actually is.

It looks cool, like what I wanted Ryse to be and a bit deeper of a game than Chivalry.

Unfortunately I've been underwhelmed by every Ubisoft game except R6 Siege in the past few years so I'm only cautiously optimistic.

I totally ignored it for some reason last year and thought it was some silly game. I really don't know why I thought that. I think I thought it was some weird VR Infinity Blade thing? Seeing it this year, though, I'm really excited for it now. Except for the part that it's focused on multiplayer? I really hope the campaign's a big deal with a really fleshed out story and isn't just added to serve as a tutorial for the MP.

Honestly the game doesn't look fun to me. I really don't see teh appeal of the combat system. Having to continuously switch between the 3 stance to counter and attack is something I see as becoming really damn boring real quick.

Running around a level also seems pretty similar to Dynasty Warrior like games, of which I think there are enough
