Godzilla is also a tank who can take a ton of damage and hits like truck. Skull Island did a pretty solid job of making Kong look like the complete opposite of Godzilla in terms of fighting style. Kong is less durable but more agile and resourceful. 2014 Godzilla is slower, takes more damage, and has one hit KO potential

Kong has a speed advantage and is smarter with opposable thumbs and is used to fighting giant reptiles, but he's also incredibly proud and not very durable for a Kaiju.

Godzilla on the other hand is slow and stupid but he's also very bulky, durable, and fires lasers.

Freddy vs Jason was amazing, so yeah I want a King of the Monsters fight

The actual fights were good but I felt like they spent too much time with the cannon fodder.

Kong and Godzilla have the advantage of being arguably the most popular giant monsters of all time, they've been around for decades, they have a history, and they're relevant for western audiences again. It's the perfect time for them to fight

Godzilla has almost never been stupid, and that's especially not true with 2014 Godzilla. He uses all sorts of different attacks for different situations. Choke slamming, tail hitting, and then the final breath versus the female MUTO.

Apes are smart and shit, but Kong is way smaller than 2014 Goji. The only way for Kong to win it is if they nerf Goji. That's why I'd prefer a series of skirmishes and then have them team up to fight a greater threat. Mechagodzilla would be a great one if they're using Rodan, Mothra, and Ghidora all in Godzilla 2.

Skull Island established that there are portals beneath the earth's crust he can just travel using those.

Why does he need to hide? He has an island surrounded by a hurricane.

Godzilla's foes have chainsaws for arms, laser breath, flight powers, magic shields, poison blood, toxic dust, rocket fingers, and all kinds of other spectacular abilities. Kong is a big gorilla. Especially coming on the heels of Godzilla 2 featuring Ghidorah, Kong is going to be a pretty big step back in terms of being an interesting opponent.

King Kong is a big deal because he was the first big special effects monster in film. That doesn't make him a worthy foe for the best monster in film.
