Why don't you just tell me what you think is going to happen and I'll point out the things I agree with? I'm not trying to be condescending, I just really don't know what your stance on this is. It's clear you feel strongly about it.
Its not passion. Its business. Its just logical.
This entire generation Microsoft has taken a HUGE beating about their First party games studio. This acquisition cost them....SEVEN 1/2 BILLION DOLLARS! With a "B".
If they wanted to just put games on Gamepass, it would be much, MUCH cheaper to lock Zenimax studios down for a year. Without even taking a step, Zenimax games wouldve been on the Series Xbox in either case. The point being is.....They did none of this. instead.....THEY BOUGHT THE RACK! The WHOLE RACK! The bought the Ip's, the devs, the buildings, the copy machines and company trash cans broski. They bought it all. Its not hard to understand. Especially after Amazon just made their own announcements of entering game streaming. they'll be looking to buy publishing arms as well, including Google. This gives us some major players in: Sony, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Nintendo and Facebook.
Thats alot of competition. Google, Amazon and Microsoft are the biggest juggernauts out of all them, With all these players, you're going to need to have the edge. You want to make sure people come to YOUR ecosystem and keep them there. You dont want them going to Sony, Nintendo, Amazon, Google or Facebook. Plus, before the other juggenauts get going, you starve them out from retaining any heavy hitters by investing just like Microsoft did with Bethesda. Because all it takes is one big hitter from Google and Amazon, and that changes the game. So let me ask you...
How do you make sure your ecosystem is more attractive to gamers and keep them locked in? I'll give you three guesses. You'll only need one.
Take your time....
