Why do so many people have a chicken pox scar in exactly the same place?

I'm pretty sure I got mine on my shoulder or upper arm, but I can't find it anymore. >_>
Parents, though, upper left arms have a centimeter diameter scar.

I had Chicken pox in my late 20's, worst experience ever. I made the mistake of having a bath and i stuck to it like one of those mats with little suckers on them.

Sorry to bump this thread.
I have that scar too and has always bothered me, it's exactly like the picture just a little bigger, are there any lotions or something that I can use to maybe fade it or make it disappear?

My wife has that scar. My previous girlfriend has that scar. I support this thread. Why??

She says that she picked at it and scratched it and that it caused the scar.

I had chickenpox and have no scar there.

Chicken pox virus (varicella zoster virus - VZV) is from the same family as the herpes simplex virus (HSV). The virus stays dormant in the trigeminal ganglia nerve of the face which has a characteristic route towards the face surface.

Looks like it goes where acne is usually prominent.

I dont know a lot of people with a pock mark like that, but I do notice (all over the world, incidentally) a vaccination scar on people's shoulders. What the hell causes that, anyway?

The vaccination itself.

Holy shit, I have that mark, I never knew where it came from. Never noticed anyone else with it either, but I would have never looked, I'll be keeping an eye out now.

Very weird to learn it's a common thing.

I've got that same scar. Had chicken pox almost 20 years ago. It's never bothered me though.
I've also got the big scar on my right shoulder from smallpox. Had to get it before going to Korea and they had to do it on the right because I think they accidentally did Anthrax on the other arm.

Edit: I knew mine came from chicken pox though. Right after getting chicken pox, I got the scar. And my parents said "Welp, shoulda listened when we said 'Don't scratch.'"

I never had the Pox as a child, and was never vaccinated. I'm sure someday I am in for one hell of a bad week or two.

I've got one in around the same area too, wow. Always wrote it off as a result of being in the sun too long or something. Oddly enough I remember scratching a lot and popping the blisters on my upper lip as a child but there's no scars there at all.

I knew several kids in elementary school with that exact chicken pox scar between their eyebrows, so when I got chicken pox I knew not to fuck with the stuff on my face. I do have a scar on my chest, though, because one of those things was just itchy murder and I decided I didn't care.

Never had to deal with chicken pox. Ended up getting vaccinated and that was that. Good thing to, because my brother got chicken pox not to long ago.

Yeah you do. My brother never got chicken pox as a kid and was given a vaccine for chicken pox.

Same here. I'm sort of surprised that I never got it naturally though. I had every other skin problem growing up

You should probably look into getting the vaccine. It can do alot of damage when you're an adult I believe...

What the hell? I have one right above my eyebrow but never had the pox,

Possibly acne pock marks? Thoses cause indent scars too

^^

Adult chicken pox can be fatal, it is most severe in adult males.

We just went of over this in class the other day and according to my teachers the whole adult chicken pocks being worse thing is a just myth. People probably mix it up with shingles which is recurrent chicken pox.

A lot of people here have a triangle of three scars on the upper arm. For measles, mumps and Rubella

Wait, it might be bcg now that I think about it
