Why do straight folk always make gay jokes?

Lisps are offensive to me. It's kind of like if a white guy wanted to stereotype a black guy by using slang and saying "nigga" 5 times in a sentence.

What if a straight guy with a real lisp was doing a gay voice among a group of understanding gay friends, without a lisp added, but there was a lisp anyway because of his speech impediment?

You are awful to this hypothetical construct.

In my country the majority of jokes tend to be gay jokes. Some really offensive ones if you stop to think about it. It's still a very religious and anti gay country, so what can you expect?

What?

Making a "gay voice" isn't funny at all and shows just how immature you are. That's primary school behavior.
Also, I can't believe you're telling me what's offensive and what's not.

People who make voices when telling jokes come off as unfunny idiots most of the time. The person must be really good at it if they're going to attempt it.

Few things are as cringe worthy as an unfunny fake voice.

People enjoy having a laugh and lightening the mood. Not everything always has to be taken at face value nor do people always have to take things to heart.

Lighten up world. Earth is becoming one seriously boring PC place.

I'm joking. I'm not telling you anything. You do seem to have lots of joke troubles, however.

I can see how that can get annoying, I've had people make gay jokes about me that I thought were pretty tame, but the difference was that they would stop after a few jokes and didn't make me the butt of all jokes and they'd piss on others as well, it's only a problem if you become the butt of all jokes and everyone in the group targets you, that can get ugly very fast, and I've known assholes like that, gawd, I wish I could kick those people in the nuts and castrate them. I generally don't like people who make jokes like that all the time either.

Probably because they're immature of have a bad sense of humour. I got a couple of friends who are like that. Basically their jokes go like: You have a small dick. I slept with your mom. And you're gayer than gay.

Its cringeworthy and i actually told them how horribly bad their jokes are. Its gotten better but it still comes up from time to time. They're my friends and i love them, but sometimes i just want to punch them.

So you're saying I should ignore all those ignorant little shits who describe anything even remotely negative with the word Gay then and let them think it's acceptable to not just demean me within earshot but a whole demographic of other human beings?

Well, that makes everything perfectly alright then obviously...

It's not about being "PC", it's about stepping outside of your little comfort bubble and adjusting your blinkered attitude for two seconds to see how words can negatively impact another human being.

It gets so bad hanging around my lesbian and gay friends that it really gets annoying, they are always calling themselves harsh names joking around each other. My straight friends don't understand why they do that. It's pretty ridiculous, I lost count at the amount of times the f word was used.

Everyone has a different confort level. It doesn't really have to do with the "PC brigade!" as it is with people's level of comfort with people's sexual orientation, which can be a messy thing for some people.

It all depends on context, tone, delivery, and if it's well intentioned or punching down.

It's a way of getting comfortable with friends, to make black jokes with black friends, gay jokes with gays. At least in some groups of friends I've been around, and it's encouraged it goes both ways.
