I remember Tim Schafer having some sort of a vendetta against Nintendo, which is why Psychonauts wasn't on GameCube, and why he has no plans to make anything for Wii.
Anyone remember why?

Chris Remo said:Are you kidding me? He's already stated he's getting a Wii, his favorite game (or one of his tops, at the least) is Animal Crossing, both on the GameCube and the DS, he plays his DS all the time, and he had nothing to do with not putting Psychonauts on GameCube. Psychonauts was an Xbox exclusive until Majesco picked it up, it was not Double Fine's decision to put it on PS2 and PC.
EDIT: This thread blows my mind. I'm just waiting for some blog (like ******) to come along and pick up the original post and run it as a snarky news story filled with "clever" barbs at Schafer, Nintendo, and then for no reason Sony and Microsoft. After this it will spread to other places, GameSpot will pick it up as "Rumor Control" with the headline "PSYCHONAUTS DEV DESPISES NINTENDO?" and hundreds of readers will construct a shitstorm in the comments.
Nintendo said:3) There is also a reference at the end of the game to an "NES Scumm System" that we're not sure we understand. Please advise as to the meaning of this reference.
which reminds me why i'm so against the one console future and want to see a three way tie this generation._leech_ said:That's always fun to read:

It's because psychonauts was an xbox game, the porting to other consoles was Majesco's decision, and done by another developer. If anyone hates gamecube it's Majesco and budcat (I think that's the company that ported it).

Would you (or anybody else) happen to have a link to said cartoon?VALIS said:That's it in a nutshell. He made a playful joke about the Gamecube, after making similar jokes about the Xbox and PS2, might I add, and Nintendo Nation wet their diapers over it. Well, some of them did.

IIRC, he described the game as being on "all platforms, except the GameCube", which he (jokingly) suggested was as dead as the Dreamcast. And he portrayed the PS2 as having an arrogant personality, the XBox as being hueg, and the GameCube as being a pathetic loser.VALIS said:That's it in a nutshell. The irony of the game bombing harder than the GameCube, and the idea that the Cube might've been the only system where the game might've stood a chance, seems fitting and equalizes the entire thing IMO
Defcon said:Dunno. It's too bad he didn't put Psychonauts on the Cube. Probably would have sold a bit better.

etiolate said:The question is, how is Kameo publishable and Psychonauts not?
And why would Majesco avoid a platformer friendly console?
Well okay, the answer to that is that most publishers don't understand sales potential and console demographics. But still, Psychonauts ditched and Azurik published?
