Why don't guys kick each other in the balls during fights?

It's not easy to kick someone that's already in a defensive posture in the balls. You'd have to standing wide open for someone to see that as a good idea.

The safest bet is to kick sum1 in the balls before there's an altercation so u catch them off guard fighting 101

Well usually if you're already at the point where fighting is happening you're way past the point of de-escalation, you might as well fight to win.

See:

You "usually" never see people kicking, biting, and poking eyes out either. This is the thing, once you cross the line from swinging at someone to stomping their face or giving someone a low blow, you can expect your opponent to take it there to. Most people don't want to escalate the fight to that level.

Again, a few punches/traded blows can be fine. That can be resolved.

But, once you're at the point of nearly killing or severely damaging someone, then there's no de-escalation.

Men have this IDIOTIC idea that a fight is a "contest", male ego projects non existent rules into an encounter (such as precisely the no ball kicking 'rule'), because men see a fight as a social ritual for dominance and pride and make the INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS assumption that a fight will be fought in a "gentlemen" manner, like a boxing match with a referee that doesn't exist, men don't think "what if he cheats? what if he has a concealed weapon?" when entering a fight, the only thing they think is "I must prove dominance".

Not ball-kicking related, but this skit came to mind at 3:20 (oh my god it's already almost 15 years old)

If you're fighting, the best way to continue is to end the fight. And if you're already fighting, the best way to do that is to completely incapacitate the person fighting you. Worrying about making them more angry is only going to mean you'll be the one incapacitated.

Like fuck I wouldn't.

I'm 5'4" and 120lbs, was smaller and lighter when I was younger and I regularly got into fights all through middle and early high school. I'm talking like once a week on a good week type deals. I did and still do go immediately for whatever will end a fight with the least amount of damage to myself and that's either a kick to the balls or moves that disable such as knee shots designed to hit the side of the knee or whatever really stops a dude from continuing a fight. Maybe if you get into a fight once or twice in your life and are a normal dude, you'll see a fight as some contest you must win honorably to uphold your integrity. When you regularly get kicked in the gut for 20 minutes by a group of dudes and don't feel like pissing blood again this week, maaaaaaaaaaaybe you see it a little differently and don't give a fuck about honor or integrity and just don't want to go home crying and avoiding your parents to explain away your bruises and red eyes.

Also rolling my eyes at the "can't believe you'd hit a girl" bullshit up in here. 30% of my fights in middle school were with girls and I can guarantee you I didn't win a single one of them and they came out much better than I fucking did. Puerto Rican girls are not to be fucked with.

Still follow these rules by the by. Fight to end fights no matter who it is. Whatever works and stops it.
If you ever get into a fight with a girl it should already be assumed she will make numerous attempts to crack your walnuts.

Getting into a fight is childish enough as it is.

Pretty much this. Getting in fights is a bad idea as a grown adult. Say you get in a fight outside of a bar or club. You might see it as "just a contest" but the guy you're fighting might want to kill or maim you. He might be armed, might have a dozen friends, could be a life-or-death situation. Can you tell the difference before you start? Are you willing to bet your life on your ability to tell the difference? I guess on that principle I support groin kicks. You should avoid fighting if at all possible. Run, if it comes to that. But if you have to fight, do it like you mean it.

If you go for the nut shot and connect, they're gonna go down immediately.
If you miss, however, I hope you're wearing a cup because they're sure as hell gonna go for yours now.

This exactly.

You better land that hit and land it with all your might cause anything less then shutting down the fight will result in him going for yours.

I kicked someone in the private parts before.
I was 6
it was in the name of sience
and it wasn't even a guy
that last part doesn't really help my point, does it?

That's a sure fire way to get his buddies to jump in or people will think you look like a cheap and dirty fighter. Most random fights tend to be about pride or whatever so you wouldn't do that in that situation. Even if you lose a fight without kicking a guy in the nuts (and most fights get broken up before a clear "winner" in public anyway) it's not all that bad.

Seems like all bar fights end up on the ground anyway.

It's a code. Anyone who has to resort to that basically takes an automatic L. You had to hit him in the balls to win, you lose.

It's 50/50 to go to that level of going for sensitive parts. Sure you can incapacitate the person, but then they might take it personal and go for a concealed weapon. Or invite more buddies to tag along and jump in.

It's high risk low reward.

When I was in the Army i told my squad mates who mostly loved to wrestle that if they tried messing with me I would either hit or grad their dicks. Then I said, I know once I grabbed or hit them in the dick I knew they would be pissed to the point of fighting so I would continue to kick them in the dick until I saw them cough up blood or they soiled themselves to take any fight they had out of them.

I never had a problem.

Also, in a fight I always aim for the neck, wrists, elbow, knees, ankles***, and balls. I don't waste my time.

Usually my own thoughts, I see no reason for honor after someone has pushed em over this clear line. I would say more on my own personal experience but I'm glad I haven't needed to fight mostly since HS.

Ya, a fight is usually just to show dominance and/or resolve arguments. Kicking groins, biting, etc is survival tactics.

Man code. It's an unwritten rule, you just don't kick/punch a dude in the balls because it's perceived as a cheap way of taking a guy down, as opposed to a fair fist fight.

If I was in a fight for my life I'd absolutely go for the nuts.

If I was just wrestling around or whatever and it's not a serious fight, then no, I'd never do that.

Bruce Lee said you should go for the eyes and the groin as your first targets in a real fight because you're fighting to survive, not "win"

You'll be seen as a pussy if you do. Might as well just start crying and calling for mommy at that point too.

Now, if your life is in legit danger? That's a different story.

If you're holding that "honor", in which its a fight to humiliate and cause pain to one another rather than to survive or protect someone: everyone fighting should kill themself. Fight the guy for name-calling or talking bad about your mom? Kill yourself.

Dick kicks... use them when you can get away with it, and never stop with just one.

I'd gladly kick a guy in the nuts. I'd never go for the eyes or something like that though. Not because of honor but because I wouldn't wanna do someone like that.

Bruce Lee appears to believe real life was the same as a movie. This view point I think is one of the major changes in younger generations. A fight used to be a fight, it was never about survival and it never escalated to that level. Even if one of the participants was extremely disliked or unpopular, just taking a punch in the face was the best thing they could do. You got just as much respect for being able to take a punch as if you could give one. Now a days people can't seem to take a punch in the face, things escalate to insane levels.

Natural Selection

1. Bro 1 kicks Bro 2 in the balls, renders him infertile
2. Bro 1's ball-kicking offspring inherit the Earth, proceed to kick each other in the balls
3. Humanity extinct within 10 generations

250 years from now the last man on Earth dies alone, unmourned, and unkicked

What?

No, seriously. Fucking what?

Is that really that hard to comprehend, sometimes people make mistakes and did stupid shit they and got a punch in the face. If you can take it like a man, people respect that, or they used to anyway. A punch in the face is fucking nothing, people act like the world is ending.

You are kinda missing the point. For one, fights dont always end with some being incapacitated. Often people will back away once someone is hurt bad or puts their hands up or "submits" or someone intervenes. You kick someone in the balls and thats not happening, mercy rules are gone and even if there are bystanders, they are less likely to help you stop the fight. Secondly and MUCH more importantly, just going for someones balls doesnt mean you will actually hit them. Even with practice (lol) your success rate is probably 50-50. But once you miss, two things have happened. You have signalled to your opponent that you are aiming for the balls, which means any further attempts to hit them are even LESS likely to succeed. And after that if he does get you down to a point where you cant reasonably defend yourself, you are fucked beyond belief. Nobody wants that. Not over a random brawl. If the fight is a threat to your well being (beyond a few bumps or bruises) then yeah sure. But not for a random brawl.

The example of nuclear mutual destruction is really good. Thats how it is.

I've grabbed there before in a friendly tustle with a friend.

Felt kinda bad about it but he was chokin' me.

No Scratching, pulling hair, or low blows.
Those are the rules, man. If you break them you'd only look like a pussy.

If it's a straight-up mutual fight, I'd prefer not to, unless I dislike the other person enough. If I'm actively defending myself from attack however, I'll poke out eyes, bite hands, and low blow, 'cause that's when it gets all scary. :c

I try not to fight anyway. :p

That guy lives in a fantasy world where in the same sentence he says Bruce Lee thought movie and real life were the one and the same. It's hilarious really. Bruce Lee had fantastic technique that only one with great knowledge could achieve at this level, he was a martial artist and simply because he chose the movie/hollywood path and not the path of a modern gladiator, people think he doesn't know what he was preaching.

Fact of the matter is that not everyone that gets into fights is there to show off some kind of fake bravado. It's not a sport and it's not entertainment. Being attacked, you need to know how to defend yourself and you'll want to put a stop to it quick.
