Why haven't seen Zelda 3DS yet?

I'm sure someone somewhere is working on it. But looking at the 3ds line-up they still haven't released all the major 1st party titles they announced with the 3ds at its first E3. Luigi's Mansion and AC will be the last two I think. So it makes sense that they haven't talked about Zelda 3ds yet.

A new 3D Zelda would easily sell me on a 3DS XL....even though I'm likely going to cave and buy one in a few days anyway.

Because it's not GDC 2013 yet.

Seriously though, I would be surprised if we didn't hear about it before E3 next year.

They gotta space these games out dude. Been tons of first party already, almost to the point that you wonder how much is coming next. Be happy with the pretty decent library 3ds got already.

As long as it isn't a touch screen controlled sequel that disgraces the good name of Wind Waker, with infuriating mandatory flute sections and TRAINS, then they can take as long as they want to show it.

If you don't like Mario arguably the only big first party title has been Kid Icarus. And will continue to be so untill Fire Emblem in 2013.

The touch screen aspects I don't mind but you're right about the other points. BRING BACK THE OVERWORLD! At this point, I think they could make a brand new, handheld version of Wind Waker with the 3DS capabilities. That would be awesome and worth December 2013 release date at $39.96 :P

Yeah, we're due for a Metroid announcement in the next year too

Also I want another Four Swords dam it! (one more like adventures).

FSA is a completely overlooked gem that delivered some really good 2D Zelda action, I'd love to see a sequel to it. And looking at Grezzo's retro and Hero's levels, I think they would do a great job.

I could even accept that it didn't support online play if it had a solo mode as good as the FSA one.

after AC, Paper Mario, Luigi etc. are out a new wave of software will be shown and i'm pretty confident Zelda will lead that pack.

3DS hasn't even been out two years; it's unreasonable to think we'll have seen every major entry in that short, early timeframe. Even then, we've had a retail Legend of Zelda on the system already (remake obviously).

Nintendo did say that another remake of a Zelda game would not happen until Nintendo release Zelda 3DS. Miyamoto said that Nintendo "doesn't want to be known for remakes", when asked about a Majora's Mask remake. He didn't dismiss the idea of a remake though, mind you. I'm guessing we'll see a new Zelda for the 3DS in 2013 or possibly 2014.

Whats wrong? Remake of the best game ever made not good enough?

I hope you're joking. I find it disturbing how people can settle for a port. By that logic we would never ever have any new games. Next generation could be nothing but ports of games from this generation, and you'd be happy.

Grezzo's probably working on it as we speak. I'd go so far as to say it'll be revealed at least announced at E3 2013.

There's no way in hell that Nintendo would let Grezzo make a main Zelda game.

I'm eager to see how the new Zelda on 3DS looks like too. :)

Nintendo are still releasing 3DS games announced back the original 3DS E3 blow out, 2 years ago. I'm sure Zelda 3DS is very much in development and we'll see an announcement some time next year, possibly GDC 2013 with a release in the holiday season.

Because it takes a long time? It's Zelda. It will be polished. Perfect. Epic. All that takes time and proper planning. Serious.

You're reading far too much into it. People aren't "settling" for a port, because they're anticipating a new Zelda too. If they thought we were getting OoT3D instead of new Zelda games they would be losing their mind right now. Rather, they feel as though it's enough to tide them over until the new one comes out, keeping in mind that last year was also the release of a new mainline Zelda game.

Yeah, the 64-era Zelda games are completely overrated, we need a 'real' new Zelda for 3DS.

2D top-down would be a good start.

I really think 3DS Zelda will be set soon after Skyward Sword or at least use the art style. Kind of like how they "franchised" Wind Waker's art style with the DS games, Four Swords, and Minish Cap. I don't see them being one and done with it and it would translate well to the 3DS.

it's not even the best 3D Zelda, it's the "worst."

First I was internet angry. Then I thought about it... and yeah, you're actually quite right about that. Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, especially Wind Waker... all much better games.

Wait, what? What you call 64 era is probably the Golden Age of the franchise: Ocarina, Majora's, Link's Awakening DX and the Oracle games are undoubtely among the best games in the series.

I want Marjoras mask 3d fuck... if an original game if anything like the DS games NO THANK YOU..... some of the worst Zelda games ever..PH.....terribad

There is a stage in Super Mario 3D Land that hints at Zelda 3DS, if you have played it I think you will remember the one i'm talking about. I was just thinking about this the other day and I feel that it's going to be revealed at the next e3. I believe we are getting the "spiritual successor" to A Link to the Past.

Completed 100% of 3DLand and dont remember, can you spoil it for me? Just put it in tags.

I'd like an original 3D Zelda (although i'd definitely buy a MM remake). I'm sure the Nintendo wizards would put out an amazing looking game that would take advantage of the 3DS capabilities.

It was just a throwback for the 20th anniversary. Miyamoto said so himself.

Zelda? lets talk about metroid.

Came here to say this it seriously took till the 2nd page for someone to ask? Metroid is hurting for a new entry Nintendo has screwed poor Samus. They probably will only celebrate Metroid for the 30th anniversary. Wait and see Metroid collection Wii U 2016 new HD game and VC re-releases.

I think I remember Miyamoto talking about a desire to revisit or do some kind of homage to ALTTP? I hope we get a fully 3d Zelda for the 3ds first then maybe a new top down adventure later down the line, maybe as an eshop exclusive.

You know what? There are 16 Zelda games, and I loved all 16 of them (well, I just liked Phantom Hourglass). Instead of arguing about which is best, or which style of Zelda is best, I will just say, give me any new Zelda, and I'll be happy. :p

I'd prefer no remakes or ports, but I wouldn't complain if I had Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, or Twilight Princess on 3DS.

Wind Waker's art style was a much bigger departure from the norm and more "iconic" so to speak, while SS is pretty much just TP with a watercolor filter. One game is enough, I think.

While there hasn't been a new Zelda game yet, the series has received a lot of fanservice on the 3DS.

Ocarina of Time.
The limited edition Zelda 3DS.
Four Swords: 25th Anniversary edition
Link's Awakening DX.
2 Puzzles in Puzzle Swap
A number of hats in Find Mii / Streetpass quest.
Level 5-2 in Super Mario 3D Land.

Completed 100% of 3DLand and dont remember, can you spoil it for me? Just put it in tags.

I'm not even sure how to make spoiler tags haha. It was brief, that one stage that had a predominately top-down perspective but showed off how fun that perspective can be on the 3DS.

Link's Awakening and Seasons/Ages are great games.

The N64 games suffered greatly transitioning into polygons, however.

The art style did not translate well into 3D. The controls were bad and really just over-complicated the game without making any real improvements.

Wind Waker is actually a much better 3D Zelda, and is closer in feel and quality to the original NES/SNES games, imo.
