Why is basil not considered an illegal substance?

Look guys, this isn't up for debate. Basil is objectively bad, just like how killing people is objectively bad. What we need to do is devise a way where future generations don't have to live with the mistakes we made and have a reason to live for. The only way we can achieve this is by either criminalizing the use of it or completely eradicating the mere existance of the herb.

Maybe you should just burn your dread and get over it.

Your taste is objectively bad and unfortunately you will just have to stew in that fact.

Is there some sort of giant conspiracy around the worst tasting herb of all time? You can smell this dreck from a mile away. Some chef probably put it in some sucker's food as a prank and the miserable guy eating it pretended he liked it not to make the chef feel bad. Then the government saw it in their best interest to subsidize it to hell so they could use it in their torture camps.

It sucks when you are eating a delicious pizza and then you take one whiff of this rubbish and your appetite is right out of the window. The overwhelming smell holds all your 5 senses for ransom and your only response is to gag constantly while contemplating what is the point of living. There is only one use for this herb, throw it in the garbage, where the juxtaposition makes your trash smell better in comparison.

That's not how you spell cilantro

You're both terrible people.

Let's not forget, the leaves of basil herbs aren't the only parts of the plant you can eat. I present to you Sweet Basil Seed drink. Gelatenous and delicious.

Gaf is full of such picky eaters. People have said they don't like basil, cilantro/corriander, eggplant, zucchini, beetroot, onions etc.

Such hater trash.

You can't cook for shit confirmed
I dunno why you guys keep bringing this up, I didn't put basil in my food. No rational person would do that. I'm talking about experience from other people's home cooked meals or restauraunts. Guaranteed to transform a decent meal into inedible matter.

Agreed. That shit is slowly killing Mexican food, since Chipotle made it trendy to use Cilantro Lime rice instead of god-tier traditional Mexican rice.
Nope. Get that orange fluff away from me.

No lo quiero!

At least people who don't like cilantro typically have a genetic defect. The others, we can't explain.

What the hell?

I would eat basil all day every day. It's freaking delicious. Cilantro too.

I had to do a triple take when I saw this thread. I swear this place has the pickiest eaters I've ever encountered.

Man I can't even comprehend not liking basil... by itself, sure... but in pho, on pizza, with mozzarella/tomato, or fresh pesto sauce pasta.

probably my favourite herb! up there with cilantro. seems like some people just stop developing their taste buds past age 4.

Cilantro is a different situation. If you don't have a certain gene it tastes like soap.

CIlantro is amazing, I load that up on everything.

Indian food? Cover it in cilantro.
Mexican food? Cilantro, please!

Keep a tb of cilantro and a tub of green onion in your fridge and you're ready to garnish ANYTHING.

Ginger is strong as hell... Which means maybe use less.

Also pesto is just too good. I feel bad for you OP. You're like the robot that hates humans because we are illogical and have emotions not knowing how wonderful emotions can be. It's like describing the colors of a rainbow to someone born blind.

Eat better home cooked meals and eat at better restaurants.
