Why is basil not considered an illegal substance?

I love using basil when I'm making my own bolognese sauce, in fact, it goes well with anything that uses tomatoes.

Rosemary goes well with garlic and lamb ( I usually have a rack of lamb), add roast potatoes and a few vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower, topped with a little beef gravy and you have yourself a delicious meal.

There's nothing wrong with basil as long as you use it on the right foods, otherwise it's too overpowering. I absolutely love it topped on Mediterranean flatbread.

It sucks when you are eating a delicious pizza and then you take one whiff of this rubbish and your appetite is right out of the window. The overwhelming smell holds all your 5 senses for ransom and your only response is to gag constantly while contemplating what is the point of living. There is only one use for this herb, throw it in the garbage, where the juxtaposition makes your trash smell better in comparison.

You couldn't BE more incorrect baby, yeah...

Coriander is just awful. It's just the worst when you order a nice pho and get it with a mountain of coriander on top.

Basil is amazing (except when they leave the whole damn leaf in the food), I bet OP is a dirty cilantro apologist.
Cilantro is also great what is wrong with you people

I'm buying some basil tonight as I'm making Bolognese sauce.

Eat shit OP, you have no idea what you're talking about.

Why do Americans hate everything good? Coriander and now basil too?

People whose ethnic history originated in America love cilantro, it's the European immigrants who screwed it up for everybody. :p

(Honestly I'm not sure I'd consider cilantro to be generally "hated" in America given the popularity of Mexican foods that incorporate it.)
