Why is Claudia Black in every single game now?

Because she was really hot in Farscape?

Well I like her voice except for Gears 3 that was not the best performance but the writing probably did not help much either.
 
Can't comment on her Gears of War 3 performance(Hell I didn't even know she was in it! Shows how much I know about the game). However, she was pretty good in Dragon Age Origins and Uncharted 2. She certainly isn't as overused as the voice acting regulars, Nolan North, JYB, etc.
 
I don't think she's quite on the Nolan North level of over exposure yet, she's just been getting a good amount of work. And good for her. Really like her voice. And her face. And her body. And her voice.
 
Hey OP, don't diss Blum. He's a legend.

As for Black, I've only really heard her in Uncharted and Gears of War and she does nearly the same kind of voice for both, so I don't know much about her acting abilities really. She's alright in those two games though. Exotic, pretty voice.
 
it was kinda funny to hear her and steve valentine banter with each other in two major games that released within the same month
 
Her performance as Morrigan in DA:O was absolutely brilliant, one of the best characters in the game.

Haha I've noticed this too. It's not even a mild tan, but a tan dark enough to make them look black when they are clearly white.
 
I like her voice but can't forgive her for Farscape. That show was shit.

You have lousy taste. Farscape was one of the best sci fi shows and it wasn't afraid to explore anything. Dark and crazy as often as silly.

you didn't mention the main game that supports this: Uncharted 2. She plays a hick that looks Mexican at best but has a white ass name: Chloe. I knew the voice was familiar, and later on found out it was the chick from Pitch Black, and when I saw that the actress was white, I wondered why the fuck they made her so dark. I mean that shit was distracting when I first played it. That's a thread topic in itself right there.

I love Claudia Black. I think she's done excellent work in her voice acting in video games. I also love Farscape!

Too much hate in this thread.
 
I don't get the hate for her in gears 3
I mean I didn't actualy play the game, just watching a playthrough (don't have a 360 -.-) but she seems decend in it so far, even had some funny lines
 
That's easy: $$$.

Work for a few half day recording sessions and get paid.

She turns in good work, adds a non-trivial amount to marketing value, and thus keeps getting hired.

That's my theory anyway.
 
I predict Square will get Claudia Black for FFXIII-2. Her character will be a hot Mexican looking woman with an upper-class Australian accent.

I'm sure she'll be very good at it.
 
Love her since Farscape which was an excellent show btw. The idea now of Ben Browder as Shepard would have been brilliant. Oh man, I can imagine the whole "This is my favourite store on the citadel" line by him lol.
 
I think she's a great voice actress and seeing as I'm a huge Farscape fan, she can be in my games any day. Plus it's nice to hear Aussie accents in games!
 
I've never seen farscape, but I'm in the last couple seasons of Stargate SG-1, where she's a major character, along w/ that Ben Browder guy. Also playing DA:O. She seems good tho.

To me, Chloe just looked a bit tanned, and that KZ3 wasn't black, she looked more like a latina.
