It's the same shit with donald duck really. He always get ****ed in the episodes, and often by chip and dale.

Yeah. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I mean he has to take care of someone elses children, his uncle uses him for slave labor, his girlfriend is a slut who just uses Donald and then goes out on dates with his cousin who can't wait to come by and rub it in Don's face. No wonder the dude has anger management issues.

Tom and Jerry was good, but I hated that cartoon with the coyote and the road runner. That Coyote was so unlucky. Everytime he sets up a bomb or an anville to kill and shut up that road runner, it would always fail and everytime he went to check it, it would go off or land on him every single time. I never got why he just didnt stop chasing the road runner. That road runner was is the definition of fluke.

Tom's a ****ing douchebag that's why Jerry picks on him. Tom's always trying to eat him and kick him out. Jerry just wants some peace. All you Tom lovers are the same way. Pathetic.

There are definitely many episodes that show Tom being really mean, which justifies Jerry's revenge.

The one episode I *really* hated as a kid though, was the one where the lady of the house wants to sleep and tells Tom if anything wakes her up, Tom's in big trouble. Sure enough, Jerry proceeds to crush every decorative plate in the house for the next five minutes, while the Tom catches every single one of them, up until the very end when the Lady wakes up, and goes into the kitchen to see where the noise is coming from. Tom is struggling with a huge columns of plates in both hands, while it seems to take *forever* for the lady to get in there and see who the real culprit is. Of course, just the second before she walks in, Jerry does something to throw Tom off-balance, he falls down and breaks every single plate. Lady proceeds to beat Tom and throws him out.

That episode was really excessively nasty towards Tom, it was one of the older T&J cartoons with oldschool style. When I was younger I really preferred those newer style T&J cartoons where Tom and Jerry would often work together against common enemy, or trying to keep the baby alive on the construction yard, etc. Nowadays, I have a feeling I'd probably prefer the older episodes because they were probably less trivial and with more unusual art style.

This thread is great.

One of the Tom & Jerry episodes that always got to me was the one where Tom had the dream where he would be sent to hell if he didn't get Jerry to sign a note forgiving him for all the torment he put Jerry through.

As far as the discussion at hand, I think they went at each other equally.

I don't know about you guys, but I hated that damn Roadrunner, too. Every friggin episode I wished Wile E. Coyote would just take him out and eat him. That would've been awesome. But noooo. Coyote got the shaft. EVERY time.

Or when Tom was just trying to get some using a bass to court the female cat:

Is you is,
Or is you ain't,
My ba-beee!?!?!

And Jerry had to run the "block" on him?

The absolute best episode of the cartoon. That was a classic. Tom trying to be a pimp was cool.

Tom and Jerry sucked when they became friends.

QFMFT.

I hate Chip 'n Dale too.

I like when Tom gets the zoot suit. The girl opens the door and is all "thomas?!" and he's like "what's shakin, chick?" So smooth.

That grey mouse makes me even angrier. Get me in trouble and then talk shit in french? Up yours, man.

I love that grey mouse, he's so cute, but he is an ***hole.

One of my favorite Tom and Jerry toons was the one where they were chasing each other in the frozen kitchen.

Yeah. It was one where Jerry called in support from his duck friend. They were using vanishing cream to hand Tom his ass the entire episode. Fast forward to the end Tom found the vanishing cream, turn the tables, and the short ends with Tom laying into Jerry and the duck, fade to credits.

:lol :lol Tremendous summary.

I don't see how anyone can like super-cool Bugs over bitter Daffy but the Coyote and especially Sylvester were pretty sympathetic. Tweety is just such a smug asshole who needs to get his.

Would it help if I told you that Jerry was carrying the plague and the hanta virus at the same time? Tom is fighting FOR YOU! Do you want a worldwide pandemic?

Plus, Jerry shits in your food.

Jerry shits for freedom. Tom's just an asshole.

btw i really hated some of the drawings of tom and jerry. There have been so many styles throughout the years.

Same here. I don't like the originals where Tom has rounded ears, and I didn't like the Gene Dietch ones where it looks like they have a $7 budget. But I'm okay with the rest.

Man, sometimes Tom deserved what he got from Jerry, but on other occassions, Jerry was just a super jerk and Tom would take the fall for some garbage that Jerry pulled. Nothing irked me more than Tom being falsely convicted for Jerry's crimes.

The Uncle Pecos episode was sooooo funny. Poor Tom. Poor Pussy cat.

As for Sylvester, the only ones that surpassed the Tweety episodes were the ones with the giant mouse (ie, the Kangaroo) that would scare the snot out of Sylvester. Similarly done with the Spike the dog and the panther. Ah, they don't make cartoons like they used to :(.

Chuck Jones died of congestive heart failure on February 22, 2002, at age 89. Jones' death brought down the final curtain on Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies family of creators. Mel Blanc, Friz Freleng, Tex Avery, Bob Clampett, Robert McKimson and Carl W. Stalling had all died before Jones.

:(

Those guys made the best animated series ever. No one can top the work they did.

I like the early eps. Tom's more cat like. I like most of the styles used on the show.

Seriously. Tom's just trying to take a nap or lay on his hammock or drink some goddamn milk, and then Jerry has to come instigate shit where he doesn't belong, and then Tom ends up getting his ass kicked somehow. What's up with that?
