No idea why they cast Owen and Beru so young in those movies.

Don't forget that for 8 of those years he was President of the United States.

Speaking of Edgerton, I watched The Gift for the first time quite recently, which Egerton directed and starred in.

Bloody hell, what an ending.

Holy shit. Life is tough on Tatooine.

He shot to fame when he was utterly whitewash miscast as Egyptian Pharoah Ramses in Ridley Scott's shitty Exodus movie.

Bad publicity is still publicity that landed him more roles after.

He is listed for like two movies in 2017. And not even big ones. That doesn't seem impressive to get as an actor.

The whole situation with Exodus is tremendous bullshit, and Edgerton taking the role is 100% worthy of criticism. But he was already doing a lot of stuff by the time that movie came out. I think Warrior with Tom Hardy is what got a lot of people noticing him, and being in Zero Dark Thirty (even if it wasn't one of the lead billings) did him a lot of favors.

Not gonna dispute that being white makes Hollywood easier, though. That's a stone cold fact. Co-leading a bomb like Exodus probably would've landed a POC actor in movie jail for quite some time.

Seeing the love for The Gift here is pleasing, I thought that film was fantastic. Since then I've paid more attention to Edgerton, for sure. I caught Loving this year because of him, which was also an excellent movie.

damn a whole two films in 2017. op you're right he's in everything.

by shot to fame, do you really mean, being in his 18th year of his acting career?

The only times the sentence "Why is [insert actor/actress] in every movie" has been uttered in regards to a non white guy, were only in the cases of Jackson and Freeman.

Which doesn't really explain your post offering an explanation of why he's in lots of movies as 'he's white'. Anyway, silly thread, silly, silly thread.

Had no idea who this guy was, had to look him up and still do not recognize him. He is in 2 movies in 2017, one a horror film that grossed 19.3 million, the other a Netflix Original where he wears heavy prosthetics.... wut?
