Why is Shadow Complex not on PC yet?

PC has quite a few exclusives, PSN has quite a few exclusives, most of XBLA's got ported. not that difficult to understand.

So if a system's great/popular games eventually get ported, it turns that service into a "complete joke?" Sorry, but that's idiotic.

I would buy Shadow Complex as soon as it hit the store if they put it on steam. Fez, and Dark Souls got my money instantly and I will continue to reward developers who make games I like available on steam.

when a great deal of the appeal was exclusivity, yes. yes it does. XBLA is a shadow of its former self.

The appeal of XBLA has never been that it's exclusive. It's that it has a constant stream of great games. Who gives a shit if those games end up elsewhere? Does it help a PS3 user without a gaming PC that Trials, Minecraft etc etc are available on a platform they can't get them on? Calling XBLA a "complete joke" is idiotic.

if i can get so many of its games elsewhere to the point where actually using the platform becomes borderline pointless, then yeah i'm gonna call it a joke, just like i'd call a system that trades almost entirely in multiplatform titles a joke. exclusives make the world go 'round, and the number XBLA has is getting smaller and smaller. Microsoft's approach to these games is the same as it is to DLC. what makes XBLA worthwhile if i can get the bulk of its games elsewhere, in places that actually maintain exclusive titles?

Filed under things that are not true. Framerate is solid.

Off topic:- Holy crap Baconsammy, you're actually back, I thought we'd lost you forever with that ban. Gonna liven up the Nintendo threads again? :D

On topic:- Makes no sense not to have this on the PC. Like many others that eventually got ported in the end, it will come, it's just a matter of time. Heck even PC hating Fish brought FEZ to the PC, a platform he once derisively referred to as "only for making spreadsheets"

I don't understand why every game that shows up on xbox has to also come to pc? I thought port begging wasn't allowed? Oh well.

Love Shadow Complex, one of the few Metroidvanias that are actually good. MS should try to keep great exclusives like that one on their platform.

however, Fez was fairly recent. i think the window for a Shadow Complex port has long gone. the most to hope for is probably it gets included with a sequel.

then again, Brutal Legend.

I think it's even stranger that Fable 2 isn't on PC.
Fable 1? Yup
Fable 3? Unfortunately, yes.

What makes it worse is that 2 is my favorite of the series. :(
They should have just ported both 2 and 3 at the same time and bundled them together or something.

Sold my Wii U, so won't be livening up those threads, no. =) I love my 3DS, though. Agreed that it makes no sense to port it. Let as many people as possible experience the greatness that is SC. I've given up hope for a sequel, unfortunately.

Pretty sure he's referring to XBLA-level games and indie games that are on steam.

In which case he's pretty much correct. A lot of shared software between the two.

There's a lot of shared, but a lot of those are ports from formerly 360-only games. Steams library of exclusive downloadable-level games completely dwarfs that of XBLA.

I loved Shadow Complex so much! It really needs a port, especially if Durango isn't backward-compatible--it would be a shame to essentially "lose" such a great game whenever XBL for the 360 shuts off for good.

They should port it to PC and then use the proceeds towards Advent Rising 2....and 3.. or at least release the books.
