Why isn't there a game where you can play as a ghost?

GhostMaster was kind of a DungeonMaster meets Sims concept that was pretty fun, but unfortunately buggy. You control ghosts to solve puzzles/scare inhabitants of a house.

Actually never heard of ghost trick. KS it really good?

Get off the internet right this second and play it. It's on DS and should be on iOS.

I'd link you to a trailer but those related videos on the side will be a landmine of game-breaking spoilers. Here's the premise (just stuff the teaser trailer would show)
There has been a murder late one night and it's on you to solve it. The problem is, it was your murder. So you need to use your "Ghost Tricks" to find out who killed you and why.

I got that for 99p on steam a few Halloweens ago, a good fun little game

Remember the NES "classic" Chubby Cherub? Well that was actually a tweaked version of a Famicom game called Q-taro the Ghost: BowWow Panic.

Geist is the game that came to mind when I saw the title, but I never played it so I wasn't really sure. OP took care of that anyways.

Come to think of it though, what about the Sims games?
Like... your "family" or Sim lives in a haunted house, that you haunt. You then just watch them live their lives and can influence or maybe possess them to do things: like pee their pants or burn the house down.

Maybe there can be a "Haunted House" DLC pack released for Sims 4.

That gif from ff6 comes from exploiting a bug that allows to keep ghost in your party for a while (I think it also breaks most of the game :p). You can do that with an official cartridge iirc. Actually there was a link somewhere explaining all the different exploits you can do in the game to break it in many may different fun ways. About to board a plane so can't really find it now unfortunately :/

Playing as a ghost or poltergeist would probably make a good VR game, where you try and scare the crap out of people in a haunted house or something. Move and throw things around, slam doors in the middle of the night ect.

Countdown begins for how long until we see this concept on Greenlight...

Nobody ever played all the way to the end of Apocalypse, so Bruce Willis is in sort of a Schrodinger's cat situation in that one.
