Why some Wii U games block screenshot sharing?

I can totally understand why YouTube, Netflix and other video clients don't allow screenshots being posted on Miiverse. I can even understand music games (SiNG Party, Just Dance) doing the same - licensing issues, yada yada... But I really cannot understand why one cannot post screenshots from Rabbids Land or Watch_Dogs.

And no, it's not only Ubisoft's fault - Assassin's Creed games are fine in this regard, after all. In fact, I made this thread after playing THQ's/Nordic Games' Darksiders 2. Not only does it block screenshots from being posted to Miiverse, it mutes both Wii U screens on entering the HOME Menu. I can't even upload the screens via Internet Browser!

This isn't "not implementing" the functionality, this is its deliberate disabling (even over-deliberate, in Darksiders 2 case). I have no idea why does it happen.

(By the way, does Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition on PS4/XBO support content sharing?)

I believe it does

But

Darksiders 2 on Wii U was published by THQ, the Deathinitive Edition and the IP is in hands of Nordic Games now. Diff publishers/owners, different rules I suppose

In case of DS2, I think that's because for some weird reason they havn't been able to get it to work. Game was rushed before THQ downfall, and full of bugs and hard freezes on Wii U.
Maybe the other games implies the same kind of weird/bad programming pitfalls.

Take your pick:
devs being weird
devs being weird about their game having strong online ties and you not being able to pause the game with HOME button during online play thus not being able to post screens of online games (unless you're Splinter Cell Blacklist which can do that for some weird reason)
your publisher is called Square Enix and is an idiot regarding screenshots in general and for good measure blocks all its VC games from posting screens.

spoiler: it's all of the above

Yea that was just launch game BS with he game being "finished" too early and then not having any budget dedicated to any kind of post-launch support.

Fair enough. eShop page for Darksiders 2 is updated with Nordic Games contacts and information, but the game itself is THQ-branded, even with THQ data collecting notice being displayed on startup.

My god, you are right. At least Super Mario RPG is fine.

It's got nothing to do with publisher rules or anything. It's entirely a launch game/THQ burning down in the meantime thing with DS2.

Lots of 3DS games do this too.

Both Pokémon games do, which is a crime really.

Those stupid hacker kids with their porn pics who killed Kid Icarus Uprising screenshots for everyone because of their immature garbage ... I fucking hate them.

I wonder why was this never addressed. Nintendo fixed Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros when a similar thing happened, and AFAIK it didn't even require a game patch.

Watch Dogs actually looks pretty decent on the Wii U.
Nah it actually looks exactly like the 360 / PS3 versions (same sub-720p resolution too) except it has WORSE framerate (drops to the low 10s if you blow shit up, check the digital foundry framerate test). Of course I'm not mocking the Wii U here, this is just Ubisoft fucking everything up as usual. The game could probably look a bit better than PS3 / 360 and have a better framerate (maybe 720p native and 30 FPS?) but they didn't care

I hate that you can't screenshot the Splatoon result screen because it's an online mode. I'd love to be able to record high scores.
