Wii Opera Browser: Up for all regions!

Obligatory Wii post: I can think of a few things they need to change, namely being able to scroll with the dpad, and the ability to highlight text for copy+paste. Otherwise it seems pretty good, keyboard support would still be nice though.

i thought it all worked well.
You can still read text, although its small.
Don't know what the issue is here....? Maybe its to make you upgrade to the full version?

I'm surprised Nintendo haven't yet released a press of how many Mii's have been sent, or how many hours have been logged on Wii's, if you have WiiConnect24 they know all this shit, and they could extrapolate those who don't.

I can't even connect to te server to Download the browser AHHH!!!

Either my downloads don't initiate or they cut off somewhere in progress. It's 33% through after about 6 attempts for me right now. I just think that the servers are pretty busy right now, in spite of it being 12:30-3:30 AM in the US.

Runs surprisingly fast, but why is it not taking the entire screen? I've got black bars on the top and sides. The text probably wouldn't be so blurry if it took more of the screen like it should.

kinda disapointing...ah well...free beta

That's just what happens for new shit. Big stuff! But honestly thank goodness this is a Beta/trial version cause it needs lots of work to be useful.us

This is how i know you posted from your Wii.
Autotext does that for some reason when you do a full stop without a space!!!

I´m browsing the forum with my Wii! It works extremely well - but what happened to tabbed-browsing? Will this feature be available in the final version?

it keeps freezing up on me when i try to watch something on youtube...would it just be cuz alot of people are using it now or should i try deleting it and redownloading?

youtube on my tv rocks = ) *posting on the wii*

It's impossible to read anything on my standard def tv, but watching youtube on my tv is actually lots of fun. Right now I'm watching random Borat stuff. Anyone with component cables got a clearer picture?

I think the Wii must automatically clear the cache when you close Opera down.
Biut i saved GAF to my favourites, shut down my Wii and then logged back on and i was still logged in my username, so i don't know what it's doing?

The favorites are a feature you utilize to make shit faster - anything you save to favorites will be what Opera remembers on Wii. Everything else, not so much

Am I missing something or is there really no way to get rid of the gigantic bar at the bottom?

And if there isn't, have they mentioned this as a feature in the full version?

i'm using my Wii on a 24 inch HD LCD and well, its pretty unreadable unless I zoom in. then its perfectly readable, but obviously hard to navigate since you're zoomed in.

i'm posting from PC right now. i have the react component cables. the text looks blurry unless you zoom in. so its not an issue of having component vs composite, but i imagine it looks worse on composite.

the speed is nice. i browsed ebay. i also did some youtube but my videos would not completely load, they would stop playing well before the video was over. anyone else having that problem ?

Nope...480p gives the same shitty result. I'm willing to bet that the text is blurry because it isn't taking up the whole screen like it should.

Looks like some people are using the browser to view YouTube vids.

YouTube is telling me that the browser has either JavaScripts turned off or an old version of Flash.

how do you tell if someone is posting from their Wii, or their PC ?

im posting from PC right now.

going back to do a Wii post.

ugh, it can't completely play larger youtube/dailymotion videos apparently. So at a certain point it just stops. I don't know the technical reason why, but i suppose it can't load a larger file completely into the cache or whatever to stream.

damn. that's the problem i was having.

Woohoo!
Im posting from my Wii browser. I thought it would be worse seriously. Its cool to watch videos like on You tube and such. I won't use it for GAF thought. Way too long to write stuff without a keyb.
