It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. That can only mean one thing...
Wii Secret Santa time!
This year, we're allowing over a week for registration to make sure that nobody gets left out.
Registration deadline: midnight Eastern Time on the start of December 8th!
Wii Friend Codes registration deadline: midnight Eastern Time on the start of December 14th.
Gift-giving starts: absolutely no earlier than midnight Eastern Time on the start of December 10th.
Gift-sending deadline: Christmas Day, or before your Tiny Tim is gone from their Wii for the holiday. If you try to gift something they already have, you'll get an error message saying to try something else.
So, here are just a few things I need from each participant... Please list your info here.
1. Your Wii Friend Code. Here's how to find it.
2. Your country (USA, Canada, etc.). Nintendo hates freedom and doesn't allow international gifting. (NOT your continent, your city, and so on.)
3. How much you're willing to spend in Wii Points. Do note: you may be assigned a minimum price point to spend less than or equal to your stated willingness, but overspending is fine.
4. The last day you'll have access to your Wii if you'll be away from it for Christmas.
5. Whether you'd prefer games from Virtual Console or WiiWare. DSiWare is NOT included.
Neglecting to include any of the above required info will disqualify you. I will PM everyone on December 10th with Wii Friend codes for their assigned Secret Santa and Tiny Tim. Failing to register both of them by December 14th will disqualify you. Trying to pull any cute stuff will incur the wrath of the mods and land coal in your stocking.
Join us, won't you? Merry Christmas!
FAQ
What if I'm from a country outside of the US and want to participate?
Please post the requested info anyway. If somebody else from your country also registers, I'll be able to match you up. If not, at least we tried!
What if one of my Friend List registrations fails?
If either of your Friend List registrations doesn't go through by midnight Eastern Time on the start of December 14th, contact me and I will make a reassignment.
What if I don't have the latest Wii firmware?
You won't be able to access the Wii Shop Channel and will be unable to participate. Sorry.
What if I have to drop out for some reason?
Please PM me ASAP so I can make the necessary reassignments.
How much exactly am I supposed to spend on my Tiny Tim?
You'll list how much you're willing to spend, and I will assign a minimum amount to spend that is less than or equal to the amount you indicated. Going over the minimum amount is fine, but your Secret Santa isn't obligated to go over the same minimum that you have.
Is it against the rules to send two different games to reach the minimum amount of points for my pool?
You'll almost invariably have to mix-and-match for most point amount pools. Please feel free to reach the minimum amount however you see fit, whether that's 1, 2, or whatever number of titles.
Is there anything else I have to do?
Please report what game(s) you received so that I can track who received what and detect anyone trying to cheat the system. You're not that guy, right?
