Wii U fever had me dusting off my Wii this weekend

Hmm, I should still do it as well. Last game I fully played was SMG2. I bought Skyward Sword and played a few hours of it and then broke my right shoulder in a motorbike accident...only slowly being comfortable making wide arm gestures again with the Wiimote :p

I ended up leaving my Wii at my friends house the last time I went to go back to my home town and visit my girlfriend, byt I've found myself really wanting to play The Last Story now that I've beaten Kingdom Hearts 3D, almost 100% on 3D Land, beaten NSMB 2, beaten everything I own on 3DS save being at the end of Kid Icarus, can't be arsed to get in the mood for an action game the likes of MGS3D/ready to beat RE: Revlations, and... well... Tales of the Abyss just isn't the type of JRPG story (too much filler bogged me down to the point of stopping) I want to play right now, though I might beat that one while I have to wait to get my Wii back from my friend.

I haven't turned my Wii on since Xenoblade last year. Have no interest in turning it on again, but I do agree it was a good console though.

I used mine a lot. Personally, it is the best console this gen.

I kind of stopped for like 3 months due to PC gaming.

I feel the same way, I mean I've got a killer PS3 backlog, PC too, but I find myself coming back to Wii and a lot of the time older games, Smash, Donkey Kong Country, New Super Mario Bros Wii, and Goldeneye for me, I find all these games brilliant, then the best JRPGs this home console gen released on the Wii. But I do find myself distracted from playing my Wii (when I have it) due to handheld gaming and some PC indie games/steam sale games.

Ever notice how the people using their wiis as "dusty door stops" are the ones who never finished either Galaxy game, never played punch out, are 15 hours into Skyward Sword, and havent opened their xenoblade copy?

Cuz i noticed.

Oh yeah, you have statistical evidence? Btw there is plenty of reason to stop playing Zelda after 15 hours.

for me its not the Wii U fever as much as it is the NSMBU fever. I have no idea why but the game looks REALLY appealing to me now. So I dusted off my copy of Rayman Origins and I love the game now, and in a few weeks I'll be playing NSMBWii again.

Other than that I just have an urge to replay SS and finish up Xenoblade.

Yeah, this weekend me and my son played some NSMB-Wii and i'm planning on playing Zelda: SS with my GF this coming weekend... Can't wait to play Nintendo games in HD..

Well, I'm planning to next weekend, although that's less due to Wii U excitement and more because I've just got around to getting Rhythm Paradise.

I've just finished Infamous on PS3 and so I'm looking for things that'll last me about three days over next weekend - 'cause after that time I'll be very distracted by pandas!

Yup. I did exactly the same yesterday. Went back to Skyward Sword. Can't justify to myself the purchase of a WiiU when I've got unfinished games on the shelf!

I don't know what it is about Skyward Sword but it feels like a slog to me. I don't like the music too much either.

I re-purchased a Wii back in April for Xenoblade, having not owned one for several years. Best decision I could have made since missing all of those years allowed me to go back and cherry-pick the highest quality games to play at very reasonable prices. There really is a solid library that is quite different than the HD consoles, and well worth playing. I recommend Trauma Team and Punch Out for anyone who hasn't tried them yet. Both can be had for around $12-20 each.

Absolutely not, I don't use the system at all anymore. I do fire up Dolphin from time to time for some action, does that count?

I've got some Wii games that I really want to get playing, but Sleeping Dogs has all of my attention right now, and *gulp* Borderlands 2 tomorrow.

Well, uh, yeah. I'd say that the intent of the question is about playing Wii games, not necessarily using the Wii system, and Dolphin would definitely fit with that.

I still have quite a few of the best games on the system sitting here unopened on my shelf and in my backlog. Kirby's Epic Yarn, MPrime3 (trilogy, but I stopped at 2), Skyward Sword (saving it for the right moment / weekend of self-reward), not to mention 2/3 of Xenoblade, etc.

It's ridiculous that I preordered a Wii U, but I plan on sticking to NSMBU and Nintendoland for as long as possible, with BC filling most of my use time.

I played a little RE 4 Wii edition to check that the a & b buttons aren't in color for the QTEs when you play with a GC controller.

Then I started looking thru the channels and noticed that I have 300 orphaned Wii points that I don't think can be transferred to the Wii U or 3DS. So I might buy another 500 and get FF 3/6 on the Virtual Console.

I started dusting it off on Friday night, I expect to hit plastic sometime in November.

:lol

I should take mine out of the closet it's been in for like... two-three years (however long ago Trauma Team came out and was quickly beaten that month) since then for Xenoblade, but I'm trying to wait for that to drop in price a little.

I use my wii regularly, but the Just Dance 4 hype is making me go back to the other just dances, it might not be the most hardcore game, but it's fun. I've been wanting to get into xenoblade, but it will be months before I have the time to play an rpg

Also, this link gets posted around in gaf but it's really helpful for people looking for wii games to play

I actually picked up my 3DS and finally finished Super Mario 3D land.

Little did I know there's a whole other game of special worlds or something wtf?

Game's just started. Enjoy.

I still use the Wii every 3 weeks or so. I am still trying to find all the puzzle pieces in DKC Returns - some are a bitch to find.

Rhythm Heaven and Xenoblade remain unfinished. One day...

Well, in that case my Wii games never went into the closet. Too many good local multi games to retire it completely.

Aw man, that sucks. Hope your arm fixes itself soon so you can crack on with Skyward Sword.

First off, this is not a troll. Not making a statement about the Wii or it's library at all.

Anyway, between all the Wii U threads, as well as all the classic SNES talk from the 8-4 podcast, I found myself turning my Wii on for the first time in awhile. (Though I did play a bit of Last Story a few weeks ago.) I played mostly VC stuff.

Anyone else find themselves dusting off their Wiis this weekend?
I've been thinking this would be the right time to sell it.

I've been to lazy to dust it off my Wii. It must be disgusting right now.

I play it everyday though. Most used system in my house.

Monster Hunter 3 means my Wii never gets dusty >_>

I went away for the weekend and all we brought to the hotel was the Wii, ended up playing Rhythm Heaven, Metal Slug collection and VC games all night

No, but I'm excited to go through a Wii backlog once I get my Wii U. I bought my Wii in November of 07, and sold it by June/July.

I either forgot how loud the Wii drive is, or my Wii drive is dying. Playing NSMBWii and the bloody thing is louder than my speakers. I'm hoping one of the improvements of the Wii U is they didn't use a cheap drive again. The PS3 and 360 slims have proven a console can be dead silent even when reading from the disc.

It got me to nearly purchase Xenoblade Chronicles so I'd have a beefy game to sit down on play on it before I part ways with it.

But then I thought I might just wait until I get a Wii U and then play it on there instead.

I know, I should have bought the game already...
