Wii U is the perfect console for a student

I completely disagree.

I don't live on my uni campus but whenever I have friends around the only games they're interested in playing are usually sports games and shooters among a few others. Also most of my friends at uni have PS4s so overall for me the perfect console is a PS4 all aspects considered for myself.

That's the thing you see: if most of his friends ends up owning a PS4 like yours, then it might be fun for them to play another (great) console at his place. Wii U does is the king for local multiplayer fun (you of course will need 4 wiimotes_and sometimes nunchucks_wich is costy) and many "hard core gamers" that never had tried it will come back for more.

Just...OP... the power consumtion made me smile: really, that will just be a couple of dollars over a year of use.

Take all your shit.

Get an off-campus apartment, you're never moving home again.

You people talk like everyone in college is dirt poor. I went to 2 years of community college, 2 university, worked part-time, took out loans and lived comfortably. My roommate and I had HDTVs, PS3s, retro shit, etc.

I couldn't imagine only taking a Wii U (or any console really) to college, as the only thing you could play though.

This is the whole reason I only buy Nintendo products. Fantastic games, released intermittently so I can devote my whole attention to them.

Out of everyone I know in college, very few actually own next gen gaming consoles since we're all too busy studying. However, the ones that do own Wii U's (mostly for Smash Bros.) and even fewer own PS4's. Don't know anyone who owns an Xbox One.

During my uni days, I didn't game on console because my apartment could not fit a TV. The Wii U would have been perfect due to off-TV play.

You also save money buying games, because there aren't many.

Any console is the perfect console provided it has the games you want. If you don't like smash bros or mario kart the fact that the system uses low power or has local mp isn't really gonna matter, is it? Conversely if you love those games you'll love the system regardless of the power bill.
