Wii U Launch Setup Dump

I find it interesting that 3 games are planned for Nov. 13th (including Tekken Tag Tournament 2). Those could be instances of games releasing before the system itself, if we assume a Nov. 18th launch. It has already happened in the past, so that would comfort a Nov. 18th launch in the US.

It's one of the worst-kept secrets of recent memory.

Seriously. The only thing that is really questionable at this point is what is it a port of. A straight or upport of the 360 version or a port of the PC build given the power of the system. I go this far because of Treyarch having more familiarity with Nintendo systems (GameCube and Wii) in recent years then majority of 3rd party developers. They have a better relationship with Nintendo then most and if Nintendo has carried over any programming tricks with the Wii U Treyarch would be able to use them.

I don't think black friday is a big deal in EU/UK (compared to the US) so perhaps they'll have it out before Black Friday in the Untied States but go for the symbolic 12/12/12 date elsewhere.

Doesn't exist in UK does it (i've never noticed it anyway)? although I'm sure they'll start trying to invent it here soon enough...

12/12 seems way too late, at that point many people are done with their xmas shopping.

It's either November 13th or the 20th.

Always a Sunday in North America. It'll be November 18th, which is now almost confirmed after the PDP leak.

What about a big exclusive mode?

What about a big exclusive mode?

Would be nice but really doubt it given the time. Unless Treyarch really wants to give Nintendo owners something special because they been loyal and stable buyers over the years. Especially considering they missed out on a lot because of the power of the system and didn't get DLC when it came to all the recent versions of Call of Duty and put up with a lot on the hacker front.

I really want to see Skylanders and Black Ops 2 on the Wii U.

Looks like Skylanders showing was delayed from E3 to Gamescom and then to ? Will be interesting to know if it was patent/tech discussions or just Nintendo holding them back :P

I can just picture both those Yoshis saying "Kill meeee. Kiiiilll meeeeee."

Seems you're right, I guess I know nothing about how to make sure people get your console for xmas...

it is late imo, didn't seem to stop Wii though so must be some logic there.

I'm thinking 2/12

For Wii UK launch? Or do you mean for Wii U? I'm hoping it's earlier in Dec, but if it really has slipped enough for it to be reported on then maybe it's further into Dec.

Y'know what? I might actually want to play Jepoardy and Wheel of Fortune on the Wii U. That could be a really good family game with the GamePad.

Tank! Tank! Tank! $49.95 :\

I want the game but it's too expensive for what it is.

That is ludicrous for that game, unless they added a ton of content outside of the normal game.

I don't think Activsion has the heart to do that.

I would buy it in a heart beat if it was even an 'expensive' $19.99 Wii U eShop title. But knowing it'll be in the Wal-Mart garbage bin in six months, I have no desire to spend $49.95 on it.

Unless it has something like God-beautiful online modes, story mode, arcade mdoe and what else, at that price the game will Tank!Tank!Tank!

Vote with your wallet by waiting for price drops. If many do that the price drops happen faster...

Yes, there's no way I get the game at full price. And I feel it'll have a price drop quite fast, so maybe I have even before 2013 :P

I thought it was suppose to be just a straight arcade rip. If so, I would pay like $10.

Activision pc games are just bad ports....if not near awful.

I don't think Activsion has the heart to do that.

True but as an investment it could locked out EA on the FPS front when it comes to the Wii U from the very beginning. Build up a ton of goodwill so when it comes to first person shooters Wii U owners will only consider Activision first and perhaps Ubisoft second if ZombiU takes off (or that could just be limited to survival horror and they could potentially overshadow Capcom on the system).

In the case of Black Ops 2 I think it was said the PC version was suppose to look significantly better though as it has it's own team building it I think.

Baby Yoshis have always been drawn with that drunk face.

See: Super Mario World, or its instruction book and promotional materials.

Looks more like he is taking a shit. Mario's shocked expression kinda confirms this.

Sure seems like quite a lot of games. How many titles were there in the wii launch.
