An update for Wii U has been released, and you need to update the console to access eShop and other online stuff. Took me about two minutes to download and another to install.
Known changes:
- Improvements to overall system stability
- Apparently fixes the Bit.Trip Runner 2 system crash when exiting game to home screen (as reported by Videoman, with some evidence to the contrary, courtesy of Darkwish)
This is not the announced spring update which will improve load times and add functionality (most likely the Wii U Virtual Console service). That one will be released in April.
Another large update is planned for the summer period.
Seems like it actually updated the gamepad as well. Got this message.
