Wii3 Aftermath: What Will Wii Buy and Why?

$250 before tax (bundled with WiiSports)
$40 Wiimote
$20 Nunchuck Attachment
$20 Classic Controller
HW: $330

Excite Truck
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Trauma Center: Second Opinion
Madden NFL 07
Rayman Raving Rabbids
Red Steel
SW: $300

Total: $630

This is an excellent thread. It made me realised that I'm currently over my budget :(

I will probably buy the system with one extra Wiimote and Nunchuck. The games, I listed in order in the most likely I will be to purchase. More than likely, I'll only purchase one or two games. On a side note, I'm kind of excited about Wii Sports being included. I think it will be fun to play with my kids. Two of them are pretty young (4 & 7) but sometimes they try to play racing games only to be put off by the controls. It's funny that when I watch them play it reminds of the first time I ever played Mario on the NES when I would pull the controller ever time I tried to jump. They will tilt the controller when trying to drive a car. When Wii was first announced, that's one of things Nintendo brought up. Needless to say, I've been waiting on the Wii to break them in. It will definately be a family console for me.

● $250 System
● $40 Wiimote
● $20 Nunchuck Attachment

1. Wii Sports
2. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
3. Excite Truck
4. Rayman Raving Rabbids
5. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent
6. Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
7. Red Steel

After the launch -

1. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
2. Super Mario Galaxy
3. Sonic and the Secret Rings
4. Resident Evil
5. Heroes

Games I hope get announced -

1. NightS 2
2. Sin and Punishment 2
3. Spore
4. Castlevania
5. Hideo Kojima's game
6. F-Zero GX 2
7. A real Star Fox game
8. A real Donkey Kong game

I've been saving up all this time, paying off two games every week I get paid. So far I have about 7 to go, TP for Wii included. I think FFXII is the most expensive one left. The rest will be two Wii titles and however remaining DS games.

Wasn't expecting a $250 Wii though, but I guess I'll figure something out.

Good on you, I've been saving as well but my dollars is weaker than US so it's not very easy to save up.

Oh if we're counting VC, then I guess I'll add $10 for Mario64 since I've still yet to finish it and I controls on the DS version keep me playing it on that.

And I'll get Monkey Ball after the MB true fans give it a spin. It was crap at E3 and I'm not gonna take the leap of faith, but if Nagoshi is truly heading the project it could see a turn around.

From what i've heard it just includes regular old composite: white, red and yellow.
Which looks terrible on all 4 TV sets in my house, even my one tube set. I need component.

It might be included http://reviews.cnet.com/4531-10921_7-6637970.html?tag=txt:

When we asked Nintendo about the A/V hookup, they said the system would include an all-in-one composite-component cable much like the one included with the premium Xbox 360. We did not get to see those cables, so take that one with a grain of salt.

The controllers are bloody expensive. I wonder how many 2P games will require the Nunchuk...

Anyhow, this is probably what I'll get:

Console
Extra Wiimote
Maaaaybe some download points (depending on available software)
Warioware if it's out
Some other game

I'm waiting on the genesis vc list, if gunstar is available at launch i will be getting that most definitely.

Launch items I'll be getting/ordering..

Wii
1 Classic Controller
LoZ: Twilight Princess
Trauma Center: Second Opinion
Elebits
Kororinpa
Odoru Made in Wario
$20-$50 worth of VC games

I'm excited. :D

I shall be getting the Wii bundle with wii sports, zelda, and an extra wiimote and nunchuck...think that runs me bout 390-400 with tax? Wheres a good place to get them rechargable AA batteries?

I must confess it is the first time i want to get that many games on launch, but with the price of the console and the controllers (a.k.a. nintendo killed my dreams) :(

Zelda and Warioware and Excite Truck deifinitely,
Monkey Ball, Trauma Center and Red Steel if the last one is really good
My first Wii if it comes with a remote in the us too
One extra controller.

You didn't buy the extremely awesome, better than the original cart, Sega Ages version?

Wii console and Zelda.

maybe Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, but probably not. will rent instead.

depending on reviews and execution of gun and sword play, red steel is a possibility, but Ubisoft's constant barrage of "bullshots" makes me cynical about the game. will also probably just rent instead.

A few VC games.

that's it.

Wii
Zelda
Excite Truck
Red Steel or FarCry

The extra controller can wait. As can Madden, Rayman, and Monkeyball.

How much is that My first wii game? And does it come with only the remote?

Even though its not confirmed for Aussie yet...

Wii(it damn better be packed in with Wii Sports)
3 extra controllers with nunchucks
Zelda

The controllers pretty much burm my budget...but if Wii sports is packed in, than im set.

Yep, right there. And four controllers.

I wish Fire Emblem made launch. <3

Console +Accessories:
Wii + Wii Sports $250
Extra Wiimote $40
Extra Nunchuck $20
Classic Controller $20

Games:
Twillight Princess $50
Trauma Center $50
Excite Truck $50

Total pre-tax: $480

Will use credit card for Wii Points. Looking to import Tatsujin Festival when it comes out in Japan.

Nov 19 can't come sooon enough...

I will most likely get:

-Wii
-Zelda
-extra Wii-mote
$370 after tax

plus
-Monkey Ball (hopefully a Christmas gift)

Although I may until spring. I'd rather have a black Wii, and I'm going to be buried in DS games anyway.

Ill be getting Zelda and Redsteel. I have also been itching to play my old gamecube games. Sold my gc as soon as I heard Wii was backwards compatable.

I plan to participate if i possibly can (money permitting)

I will buy

1. Wii console $250
2. Zelda TP $50

That's all i can be certain about.

So $300

If money permits, i would buy 2 more games So $400... Additional games would probably be rayman and red steel (if reviews are good)

Use the extra's if you want, or leave them off if you want.

Just the Wii and Zelda for me at launch for certain. Likely just a second Wiimote for accessories.

Likely a few VC games within the first month, but if they're offering pre-paid cards or some jazz I'd pass on those and just stick to online transactions.

Yay for floor game pools!

All I'll need is:

-A Wii
-The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
-Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (optional)

Thanks to someone else on my floor getting Trauma Center, and another guy buying Excite Truck/Rayman Raving Rabbids. Three Wii's=no need for extra controllers.

Although I will be picking up Trauma Center for myself if it properly rules, which it most likely will.

4 controllers I can still understand... but four nunchakus and classics, too? Good grief.

That's pretty nuts. I think I spent around $600 when the GC launched though... and another $100 when Pikmin/SSBM came out.

I'll probably end up spending more at launch because I just can't help myself. :(

Wario and Red-Steel if the reviews are hot. : $0 - $100

Total : $350 - $450 (+ additional cost of getting UK system)

I'm gonna participate proper in this thread in about 2 hours time when the Euro launch details are unveiled methinks.

Unless I'm banned for it releasing in 2007. In which case, I won't :D

Not sure how this'll translate to Australian currency, so yeah...

Hardware
Console
Extra Wiimote
Extra Nunchuck Attachment
Classic Controller

Software
Excite Truck
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Trauma Center: Second Opinion
Rayman Raving Rabbids
Red Steel
$AUD100 worth of Wii Points

System w/Wii Sports - $250
Zelda Twilight Princess - $50
Classic Controller - $20
Wii Points - $30 worth or more
Red Steel - Waiting on reviews

Total - $350ish

I don't have wireless internet and haven't really followed this, but will I need to buy an adapter to hook up to WiiConnect seperatly? Did they mention that, or how much it'd be? Overall if the VC lineup is great on day one, I could see myself spending a lot of cash there.

wiimoneyqw0.gif

Wii + Wiisport 250€
Zelda 50€
"My first Wii " bundled with Wiimote 50 € <--really hoping we get this like Japan as I think it will make a good party game to chill with casual-gamer friends.

Total 350€

It's for the best. By the time you do get a job and manage to be able to afford it, you'll realize most of those launch games sucked and you'll be able to avoid the hype and settle on quality titles

Hahaha so true. Who knows, I'll probably just take out a loan. I mean, I gotta get a ps3 too....

I'm not even thinking about PS3. That shit is out of my mind. If I have a SPECTACULAR winter, I'll be able to afford 360 by the summer but PS3 is...wooo, out there.

Hardware
Wii
USB -> Ethernet adapter

Software
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

I estimate the cost of the adapter at around 20 dollars. So this will cost me 320 dollars in total.

Tim the Wiz said:

expect about $350 AUD for the console (assuming we get Wii Sports bundled as well).

GC prices for the games

$50-60 for the remote

$30-40 for the nunchuck and classic controller

If the Euro launch is parallel to the US one my purchases will be

- System (€250)
- Twilight Princess (€50)
- VC downloads (€20)

~€320 for certain.

Later:
- Nunchuck + Wiimote (€60)
- Excite Truck (€50)

If you can play VC downloads with a GC controller (or Hori pad) I won't be getting that classic controller.

True. Has applied to every console launch I've ever jumped in on.

But, but its a launch, you gotta get into the spirit of things.

For me:
1. Wii
2. Two Extra Wiimotes + NunChuk
3. Zelda
4. Classic Controller
5. Rayman
6. Red Steel
7. ExciteTruck
+ 3 other games.

My Girlfriend and I shall split this:

Wii Console w/ Wii Sports 250
Wiimote + Extra Chuck 60
Classic Controller 20
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 50
Trauma Center: Second Opinion 50
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz 50
Altered Beast,Toe Jam and Earl,other VC 2000 Wiipoints ~20$
Total 500

I am thinking about this,

Wii
Zelda

Thats it. $300 I am paying for a sytem for one game just because the fishing might be better on it. -_- Nintendo does have me by the balls.

Wait a second??? What happened to Metal Slug Anthology? Did that get delayed?

Also is it true I can just hook an external HDD to the usb port? I recall Iwata saying you could in an interview. If so I have a 500GB drive to hook to it.
