I'm pretty sure if a dirty bomb went off In a US city and the turrists had any connection to Iran whatsoever we'd be on another adventure to liberate the ME in no time, so in some weird way it's in their best interest that America doesn't get attacked

Funny thing is, if they use a bomb like this anywhere in EU or on US allied soldiers, the US will still consider it an attack on the US as well as the country it was used on. Hopefully these people realize that.

I'm sorry but that is inaccurate. We had international support and tons of political capital worldwide in support of the U.S. hunting down Al Qaeda. We blew it all when we invaded Iraq.

And then if you go into Pakistan, or country X, who do you shoot or blow up? There are no uniforms in this. This is something that seemingly is beyond the comprehension of many when it comes to this subject.

E.g. Let's go to Afghanistan and carpet bomb it
E.g Let's go to Iraq and bomb it
E.g. Let's go to Iran and bomb it
E.g. Let's go to Pakistan and bomb it

What have the two wars achieved? The military have already publicly admitted this is not a battle/war they can within their means. And so the solution is to go into another country and breed more angry people towards violence? This isn't an RTS

i'm not really feeling too concerned about this. i suppose it's the job of the people in power to worry about stuff like this, so for now i'll let them handle it while i go on with my life as usual. since 9/11, what have terrorists done in the US? attempted shoe firecracker, attempted underpants attack? if al qaeda is trying to lull me into a false sense of security here, they're doing a damn good job of it.

I agree. For better or worse, if something went off on U.S. soil, say goodbye to lax border patrol. U.S. would probably build 30 ft high walls around all borders and very strictly enforce the borders. Every single person on our soil would be accounted for and illegals would probably get the boot.
