I forgot about this going F2P until this thread popped up. Interesting. I'm thinking about giving this a shot with my wife tonight. She loves Guild Wars 2, likes FFXIV, but got sick of WoW. We tried SWTOR last week for a bit, but Wildstar honestly looks more interesting and has less F2P restrictions.

Has nothing to do with the number of visible servers. They're like the GW2 megaservers.

The issue is that they don't have enough channels.

Talking to a few people in game it's busy but the newbie lands aren't insane. I completely believe their login/queue system is being overloaded. Just my opinion though.

Isn't this because of the megaservers? You should never feel crowded in a zone and it should never feel empty. Throw 50 people in each zone, then when it gets full, put the new people on channel 2. Once people leaves channel 1, new people will log into that until it hits 50 again, then go to channel 2, etc.

In the newbie zones it phases things so you'll never have to worry about fighting mobs. It's entirely possible the servers are getting crushed by having thousands of instances of those zones running.

how do the login account rewards work? shows a bunch of stuff including a mount, but then says bind to character. I didnt try it because im not sure i want to use it on this character and then not be able to on others
