WildStar: Reloaded |OT| Full Steam Ahead!

You cant change again as far as i know. And i like playing lag free

You should be able to transfer back, just hit the character transfer button on Jabbit 2 and send the character to Jabbit 1

I'm hoping I'll be able to split my time up well between this and Rock Band 4 coming out tomorrow and Uncharted Collection on Friday... God I hate fall release but at the same time I love it!

Thayd is easiest to find stuff in and has a better layout, but I think the Dominion city is much, much nicer looking.

I'm sticking with Engineer. I saw that their end game build has you not using their regular auto attack and you dash all over the place. Sounds fun! I also like that Engineer has a lot of utility abilities that help the team.

Man I really wanted to get into this, but somehow I cant help feeling how boring leveling is...

Quests feel aimless, zone storyline isnt clear, level up rewards aren't obvious so theres nothing to look forward to, amps are simply stat boosts, lots of systems thrown at you while leveling

I've played WoW for ages, but I'm finding this leveling hard to get into...

Perhaps it's because I'm playing an engineer

Its still a mmo like any other at its heart so if you don't like or are bored with those this doesn't exactly reinvent the wheel. I haven't played one in ages, and I was in a post-Diablo pre-Fallout lul so im into it quite a bit, (right place right time) but I can easily see a version of myself once upon a time (or in a near future) feeling exactly how you're feeling.

Eh, not to my mind. An extremely polished experience.

lol They still break shit.

There's a quest chain in the Hillsbrad Foothills that's off and on impossible to complete. It gets fixed and broken all the time. An NPC party member kills an enemy NPC so quickly you can't loot it. Which you need to do in order to progress the quest chain. You have to attack the enemy NPC before your party member does, but even then you can't damage it. You then have to walk it over to where your NPC is engaged in a scripted fight to damage, kill and loot it. Then a flying mount is supposed to appear to whisk you and the friendly NPC away but it doesn't always appear. Logging in and out fixes nothing, you constantly half to abandon and re-accept the quest to complete it. And even if you complete the first half and get the loot, the next part is guaranteed to trigger.

This was when Warlords of Draenor was out. You encountered this bugged quest chain if you leveled up a Horde toon through the Eastern Kingdoms Forsaken quest zones. That's a low level zone.

Nah, I remember tons of bugs in early WoW, possibly more than anything else since... cept maybe Age of Conan but that's Funcom and they set the standard with Anarchy Online to begin with. WoW was a new frontier though, so much more mechanical and populated than anything prior, so I don't think people held it to the same standards as you would one of it's ilk now.

I still remember really obnoxious ones like the Soul Stone bug that erased your bonus Stamina until you relogged 100% of the time or the Hunter Aspect bug that destroyed your attack speed until you relogged 100% of the time, for example. Tons of ability bugs like that everywhere, not to mention all of the server and latency bugs when the game was coughing up blood to stay online early on. I mean they stopped selling retail boxes for like... a month to cope with it? I remember scalpers selling copies for good money.

I think they got it a lot better with TBC, though, just the early success probably threw them off. Only issue I remember from early TBC was that one tomb quest they tried to fix like six times... well, aside from design quirks like making melee nearly unplayable in raiding for a month or so, cleeavveee

Eh, not to my mind. An extremely polished experience.

I tried playing WoW for the first time last year. Was in some sort of werewolf starting area. I ran into one progression blocking bug which I had to get a GM to help me with. There was some point in the story where a boss and a bunch of NPC's were going to battle in the town, but the boss never spawned, thus the cutscenes didnt play and all of the NPC's were just frozen. This was on a quest when I was maybe level 5. WoW isn't as bug-free as you may remember.

Keep in mind that not everyone is running into the same issues that you may run into. For example, the bug I experienced in WoW likely wasn't 100% repro or else it would be hotfixed in a matter of hours. It was probably just a one-off and it was unfortunate that I hit it. Overall I still somewhat enjoyed WoW and I would say it is a polished game. But it's not without its occasional game breaking bugs.

We were talking about Vanilla WoW and after a year.
Sure, an expansion comes out, bugs get created. They get fixed fairy quickly.

It's been a year after Wildstar's launch, and these aren't new quests. They just don't work. One of the bugged quest I ran into was a tutorial quest.

The Hillsbrad Foothills quest isn't new content, it isn't affected by new content, it's content that's three expansions old and it breaks periodically. It's not unique nor isolated. There's a lot of dodgy stuff in WoW in Vanilla/BC/WotLK and even Cata era content that you encounter when going for Loremaster achievements. And WoW is a mature product.

I don't think wow is a particularly buggy game, but I don't think wildstar's questing experience is either - they both have bugs that sometimes pop up, it's unfortunate if you hit 2 in rapid succession but most people don't. Sometimes a quest gets totally broken and that usually gets fixed quickly in either case. Not sure what is important about the debate - wow has absolutely had broken quests, so has wildstar, but they're neither largely broken. If anything is buggy in wildstar it's probably the UI, which still has errors from time to time.

the fact that /reloadui is needed so often in WS sucks ass

I have a 49 Warrior from launch but thinking about rerolling to get use to the game again. Thinking about rolling a Medic this time. Love every class, that's the great thing about this game

Man, I hate healing in this game. This focus system sucks early on with no way of regenerating. It's like healing in PVP doesn't really exist because you run out of focus so quickly.

I've rerolled all of the classes. I think I like Warrior for general questing, but then PVP, it's pretty bad. Too many cooldown skills that rely on telegraph, but you don't see the telegraph if you're hotkeying. Seems like too many problems with this telegraph system that I'm really starting to hate it.

No idea what you're talking about.
I had Pre-Cata and Cata Loremaster done with no problem.

So after the maintenance, the bug is still there. The quest is Sunken Prospects: Bots can't swim. You can interact with the bots.

Sounds like the game might not be for you then. The telegraph system is an integral part of it. I really enjoyed healing on my Esper. Focus became something that I only had issues with if I wasn't healing smartly and efficiently. I'd eventually run out if the fight went on too long, but that was an issue with the group in that case. Focus should be limited otherwise healing isn't a challenge.

Well you can't heal with mouse look with Esper.
And the passive regen on focus is so slow compared to every other RPG I played.

The problem I have with telegraphs is missing a lot. An esper relies on combo points, may be missing 30-40% of the time because everyone is moving. Then you built up all your stacks and use that right click spell only to have it missed, or dodged or whatever.
Such a terrible feeling especially when it's going to take 20 combo spells to actually kill someone.

im having problems with mana regen aswell. you say you have to heal smart, but you cant heal smart when your entire party is taking damage left and right. thats all well and good in a organized group with people that know how to play and are on coms and what not, but with randoms that think this is wow, you have to spam heal.

I have been playing this for the last week and despite the server problems I have been in MMO heaven. The game just clicks for me like no other MMO has, even WoW. I bought the collectors addition back at launch but a string of unfortunate events that were occurring prevented me from playing at all so this is my first time through the leveling process. The world is so well designed, I love the variety of the quests (skipping tasks) and the explorer path has me going off on interesting diversions all the time and the LORE, it's EVERYWHERE and I stop and read almost all of it. I love the player traversal and how fluid all the animations are. I love the graphics and most and important of all I love how it feels to actually play.

I'm only level 25 and it feels like it has taken me forever to get there but I don't mind in the least. I'm going to enjoy the leveling process solo and then get into the GAF guild, if i can when I'm at or near max level.

Mouse lock is not good for healers with targeted abilities. Esper healing is probably one of the only specs that can't really use mouse lock. Healing is hard. This isn't WoW where you can spam your heals for an entire fight. You will have periods where you need to not be casting a heal, let your heal over times regen the DPS if they're not actively taking damage and at risk of dying. Avoid topping people off unless it's necessary due to a certain mechanic, etc. Not to be mean but missing telegraphs is the fault of the player, not the game. Most classes have ways to regen focus. Meditate for Esper, as example. Put more points into that if you're having focus problems.

That's not a problem with the class if your teammates aren't playing well enough and are eating telegraphs. Besides Heroics, meditate was all I needed in order to stay fine on focus in fights. If you're literally having to spam Mind Over Body to keep your team alive then something is going wrong. Unless it was a boss mechanic where everyone was taking lots of damage i'd cast my heal over time on those who weren't in threat of dying, get some heals going on the tank and then pop a 5-pointer AoE heal if I needed some big area heals. Maybe you're getting really bad luck but I leveled to 50 as an Esper healer doing many dungeons, if you're running into issues it's one of 3 problems: you're not geared well enough, your party is eating damage when they shouldn't, or you're not healing efficiently and using focus on needless heals. If a dps is standing in a telegraph tell them that, do the old method of "I won't heal you if you keep eating telegraphs" and let them die if they don't listen. Death is a pretty good motivator to improve.

just healed my first Stonetalon. Only wiped once on the last boss because aparently we didnt have enough interrupts. Was contantly OOM, oh well :/

fun tho

example, in this run 1 of the dps, a spellslinger, was constantly almost dead and miles away everytime, even tho I said a few times as a medic I have fuck all range and for him to please stay closer. oh and our tank was a Stalker, see they work :p Was a bit of a pain for me because he was hopping all over the place but hey thats the class I assume so I had to adjust, thats on me

How is entity-1 doing lately?

The earth has parted, and the four horsemen ride their pale steeds across the sky spreading chaos and destruction as we speak.

Seemed okay yesterday during prime time. I still want to transfer to stay with the group though.

Eh. If the stalker was tornado tanking to avoid AOEs, that's most certainly not the way to do it!
