Luckily for me, I live in Japan and here it seems to be still the norm to like people of the opposite sex and also show attractive women in the media. Although with the western influence it is probably only a matter of time...

japanese games still do this. i also don't buy the porn star argument, nu claire and nu jill look fantastic for example but they don't look like porn stars. when it comes to western devs, things look more dire. the trend right now in the west seems to be to make female characters as average as possible (men are still allowed to look unrealistically attractive).

i seriously don't get why there can't be games made in the west anymore who proudly cater to a straight male audience like back then. does every game really need to be made for everyone nowadays? there is already so much diversity on the market, a couple games made exclusively for the male audience wouldn't hurt anybody but i feel like they would still get shat on by the blue checkmark brigade just for existing.

I always try to see both sides of the arguments but let's face it 99% of the games are made for the straight male audience. The sexy muscular guy - always the main character is targeted at straight men as a roleplaying fantasy! - you are that sexy muscular guy on the game saving the world etc! - power and masculinity!

But alas there's nothing wrong with games having "sexy women" I find most designs of female characters and what they wear really hilarious! But I'm not their target audience!

"sexy sells" the problem is most straight men have been having those type of games/imagines for so many decades that... anything that isn't the usual stereotype becomes an outcry thus validating the also stereotype of "entitled misogynistic male gamers" - fueled by some people on the internet and we end up with 2 sides fighting…

Yups project eve to the resque, but like some1 already pointed out, its a game made by japanese dev, they arent forced by politically correct culture like western devs to have avg looking(not gonna say ugly since its bit unfair, ugly only by tv/videogame standards) women in their games to not godforbid make them sex symbols and awaken kotaku or some feminists trying to cancell their game, devs as such would rather do their best to please them inspite of actual gamers fanbase, vide new saints row reboot

Best proof its not a coinsidence is comparing actress who gave her face to alloy in first horizon vs horizon forbidden west alloys face, no idea how many kilos/stones/pounds this actress would have to gain for her face to be so much deformed, but easily from healthy weight deep into morbidly obese bmi for sure.

Ultimately for me she could be ugly as sin 90yo bald guy and game would still feel/play great(ofc story needed to be changed for that hahaha;p) but cant deny fact they made her face visibly uglier, especially in 2nd game compared vs the actress her face was based on, its not make up/lighting , its simply politically correct mindset from the west devs and strong resolve to stop making women obvious sex symbols/eye candy.

Gamora doesn't look masculine at all. They could have easily attempted to do so with her backstory as a powerful fighter. They opted to not equate powerful warrior = masculine.

Loved that game, and you're right. But I think a lot of the designers behind Deus Ex and Guardians were French or French Canadian. France has different sensibilities than the west on this matter, so that's worth acknowledging. Even Lady Hellbender looks better than most characters you see in the West. It's not an accident.
