So I found out thanks to RPS (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/08/04/meg-9-lost-echoes-william-gibson/#more-305443) that one of the pioneers of Cyberpunk, one of my favorite genre, William Gibson is working on a sci fi video game with a very interesting premise.

A basic summary of the gameplay from RPS:

"Remotely piloting an upgradeable rig, your role is to explore a high-tech complex that’s mysteriously gone dark and is now infested with these weird bio-mechanical bug things. You also basically get a robot dog."

From the Steam Greenlight page:

Gameplay seems to be a mix of Mass Effect vehicle combat with tactical elements added, atmosphere is very eerie similar to Dead Space.

A ton of more info and media at the main webpage

Seems to play a bit similar to Battlezone 1998 as well. All in all it's the atmosphere and the vibe that gets me the most, seeing as I love Cyberpunk and Sci Fi.

Platforms are Windows and PS4 from what I can tell, developer is Skunkwerks Kinetic.

Crazy to see Pondsmith and Gibson in video games only just now.

Yep, I thought Cyberpunk, Western Cyberpunk at least, died out a few years back but then we got Jordan Weisman back in the saddle with Shadowrun, Pondsmith with CDPR working on Cyberpunk, Deus Ex is back and now Gibson with his own video game.

All I need is Ken Levine and Warren Spector to get back to it and perhaps an open world Blade Runner game, would be a dream come true.

Will it involve purchasing color coordinated sets of furniture for your future apartment?

Or shopping for hip clothing and accessories of the future zeitgeist?

If not no sale.
