Winback 2 - Where is it?

This was announced at E3 along with a really nice trailer. However, since then I haven't heard anything at all about the game. Is it still around and coming out for Ps2/Xbox?

I'm wondering this too. Omega Force needs to lay off the Shin Sangoku Shovelware for 6 months and finish Winback 2.

Hopefully will be ported to the revolution the n64 did have the original after all.

See the version that came out on the ps2 is it worth getting? as i seem to have lost my n64 cartridge.

Dayyyyyyyyum defensor that avi is bad ass she has some big ol tittays!

Was the original any good? I rented it on the N64 once but gave up after an hour or so because it seemed boring and slow to start.

Yeah it was pretty good had an entertaining story but the gameplay was badly flawed.

Yes.

The most I remember about it was that you could hide behind walls, which was a pretty big innovation.

I don't think it came out before Metal Gear Solid, did it? And I'm sure MGS wasn't the first game that had you hide behind walls either, I'm assuming.. ~waits for a GAF member to dig up screen shots of an obscure game~

I played the original a decent amount of times, and it was pretty good. Fun multiplayer. I actually bought the PS2 version at Blockbuster for $5 preowned a few months back but haven't tried it yet. Oh well.

Indeed, it has a nice Multiplayer. I'd put it into my top 10 on N64-Multiplayer. Really worth looking for. Maybe even because the controls are not that fluid, it is really funny to have those stand up/ sit down 1on1 shootouts; and then a 3rd player runs around the corner and spoils it all by killing both.
Great! :>

Hah Me and my friends had a really good time with Winback first on the 64 and then with a multi-tap PS2 (Kabuki! Get in Here!).

It's a pretty fresh take on deathmatch really, rolling at the right time and finding a good position to duck and cover were essential skills and led to some really intereseting shootouts.

Most hillarious thing always when someone dove for cover and realised just too late that they were now crouching behind an exploding box. one shot and BOOOM!

Truly the most underrated multiplayer game last gen.

Did I read something wrong, or is there a PSP Winback in the works now?

So is the PS2 game worth playing at this point?

Did you play the game on the N64? The PS2 version is exactly the same, just with the obvious visual enhancements and a better frame rate.

Wow I didn't know a Winback 2 was in the works. Was it announced at last years E3?

Winback on N64/PS2 was incredible. Kind of like a MGS with a shit story, but the gameplay more than made up for it. I don't wanna say the gameplay is better than MGS, but it's definitely more user controlled and in your face.

It's what Splinter Cell should thrive to be. The multiplayer was awesome too, if a little shallow.

Pretty sure it was announced at E3, along with Bladestorm.

I wouldn't really put Winback in with Splinter Cell and even Metal Gear. It's not as much about stealth and storyline so much as it is about pure shooting action, IMO.

I would put it above Splinter Cell. When it's 3am and I cannot sleep, I load up some Splinter Cell. Next thing I know my fiance is waking me up and it's time for work.

I think Time Crisis counts if we're going to discuss the birth of the "I am being shot at! Hide!" genre. I couldn't find a date (Read: LAZY LAZE DUDE), but I think TC predates WB.

the game Nintendo Power was hyping back in the day was Hybrid Heaven. For some reason they had the idea that it was a "spiritual sequel" to the Metal Gear franchise and were pimping the original renders that came out hard.

Yeah, Hybrid Heaven has the best Fighting System I've seen in a RPG (I haven't played many tho :///) And I'd put it in my Top 10 List of N64-Singleplayer. Dynamic and intense!

Oh wait, Hybrid Heaven was the one I played. Never tried Winback.

I actually really enjoyed that game! i need to download that when revo gets here ... that was badly flawed as well :lol but was a enjoyable game.
