Wind Waker Link is so good.

Okay, so I'm replaying BOTW and Wild Link is easily my favorite Link of all time, mostly because he was a wide range of emotions and animations. Mostly the animations, and it feels very alive, however, I do prefer the aesthetic of WW Link.

He is just the best.

Link laughing at joke his shield just cracked

But not only him, Wind Waker gave us a new whole prism to revisit Hyrule and a reimagination of it, truly one of my favorite Zelda games.

Even if we have already a lot of sequels which use this art style, I think we could use some more in a big console from Nintendo.

What do you think GAF, do you like Wind Waker?

Honestly I hate Child link and the whole Cel Art style of Wind Waker. I get why people love it, but it just does nothing for me.

Much prefer Twilight Link and Zelda personally.

WW is a good game but not in my top three. Though strangely despite all the above I adore Minish Cap so when it comes to Zelda I'm just crazy.

My favorite design of link from what I think is my favorite Zelda

I haven't played it in years but I'm pretty sure it's still my favorite. It was my favorite when it came out.

After playing breath of the wild it's definitely NOT that one, and I hated TP and SS so it's probably still my favorite

I like the character and the world of Windwaker a hell of a lot more than BotW. WW Link definitely shows a lot of expression, my favorite scenes are him waving when leaving the island for the first time and when he gets shot out at Forsaken Fortress.

I'll personally never get what people like about TP's Link and Zelda. They look so washed out and dull.

I love his personality. Wind Waker felt more like how I might have imagined A Link to the Past to be in 3d, it was just lacking the kind of expansive and detailed overworld that we now have in Breath of the Wild. I'd love to see what they could do with that style today. Botw is gorgeous itself though.

You didn't post any images of his actual model, just artwork.

Personally Wind Waker Link is my least favorite. I like him in Smash because he's so different artistically from regular Link.

Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild took the best elements of it and combined it with the more traditional look of characters to create the modern style.

He is my favourite Link. It helps that I love Wind Waker, Minish Cap and Four Sword Adventures a heck of a lot, but his look, his expressions, all perfect. I do think he got a bit overused when we include Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, but I wouldn't mind seeing his return a few Zelda games from now.

Twilight Princess Link is still the best one.

It helps that Twilight Princess is also probably still the best Zelda.

We did; it's Phantom Hourglass.

It's one of the only Zelda games that's a direct sequel of another one. It is a disappointing game, but it has its moments (like the bosses, which are really awesome).

I loved the
fucking piece of shit puzzle about the motherfucking map crap ass butt face took me hours until I gave up
it was so great!

He is great. WW is still gorgeous today and his expressiveness plays a huge part in what makes the game world enjoyable to experience and explore.

TriForce Heroes' links are good too. The pom-pom cheer reaction is adorable and secretly the most useful in the game

Good art but from a game design standpoint wind waker is pretty bad.

Uber linear, vague, scripted progression is the worst Nintendo design trend that luckily botw seems to have ended.

I loved that game

And who can forget the fantastic
timewasting bullshit that was having to replay the big main dungeon a bit further after each major area
true brilliance.

Yes, Toon Link is by far the best. Only Skyward Sword comes close. No love for generic Link, I like my boy to have charm and a personality which he has in spades.
Coincidentally those are the best two 3D Zelda games

Tetra is also fantastic, shame her princess form loses a lot of the charm.

I was talking about how windwaker 2, which was in development after the first game, got scrapped and aspects of it were incorporated into twilight princess.
Phantom hourglass was one of my least favourite Zelda games. It's not what was envisioned for the sequel imo, but I will concede that it is a direct sequel.

Ww Link is alright. I hated the game so he's never really been a favorite of mine. He's pretty much in the middle pack with most of them for me.

Minish Cap needs more love

It's the worst handheld Zelda, it gets just the right amount of love

Link Between Worlds > Spirit Tracks > Link's Awakening > LTTP (GBA) > Oracle of Seasons > Oracle of Ages > Phantom Hourglass > Minish Cap

WW Link has amazing animations. Love that look on his face when he's pressed against a wall all sneaky like. What a dude.

Child Link has always been better than the stoic cool warrior they try to play teen Link as most of the time.

I do love me some Wind Waker Link... I might actually be ok with him coming back again in the future. I would love a super expressive Link again.

BoTW was a step in the right direction, but I would love that whimsical, somewhat comical Link back.

Everything about the aesthetic in WW is on point.
It's literally the only thing I actually like in that game.
Music is goddamn forgettable but it did gave us Dragon roost island which is incredible.
Everything else is basically the worst out of all the Zelda games out there.
I think I prefer playing any other Zelda game but this one.
The 4Swords games were more fun, Minich Cap had more interesting quests, the DS Zelda were certainly better paced and had better navigation (and were also harder).
Coming off the Oracle games, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, it was one of the biggest disappointment of its era after Yoshi Story.
Heck we had Star Fox Adventure to make us wait a little till we got a real Zelda, we got that shit instead...
Sometimes I hate the Gamecube, thank god for Prime.
Makes you wonder if TP is so appreciated because it's after such a disappointing game...
