I'm using it on desktop just to play around but it's not too bad even on it. On a tablet I'd say it'd be pretty good and seems optimised for that form factor unlike the Android one.

It all goes into your Microsoft Account assuming you use the same account login on your Xbox and Windows 8/Phone.
If you have old converted MS points that are going to expire next year you can use them to buy apps and games on Windows 8 and Windows Phone. I think I have about $30 in my account I need to use before 2015.

I wrote a bit about some apps i've been using for various purposes in the OT, thought I ought to post it here as well.
Since then i've found a couple of new ones. Touché for YouTube is an app which looks like the browser youtube layout, but the video player is metro through and through. NarrowCast is a recent podcatcher with somewhat simple features, but features seem to be coming up.

I dont think any of the apps i've used caches tweets in a good enough manner, but a lot of paid apps have tweetmarker support which can mitigate this. I'd recommend tweetro+, which has worked best for me.
The official one, it actually works well in portrait and the slice. However, it's very not kb/m friendly.

Yeah official works well in snap. I don't really use it much in full screen though.

Shame there's no Rdio app, the current one is a disaster on the HiDPI screen. Works, but it's super ugly.

My only problems with the official app are the wasted space(not a big deal) and lack of real time updates, though it does update periodically, it's just slower than I'd like.
