It wasn't just the vita pricing for me. I think 'journey' being my game of the show had something to do with it. Uncharted 3 looked awesome too. And the resistance 3 evening demo was nice indeed. Shame, I didn't get to see any last guardian.

I voted for Sony, but Nintendo wasn't really far behind. However, considering how lackluster Sony's conference was this year, the fact that they "won" shows just how bad this E3 was.

I voted for Nintendo but I want to qualify that. I think Sony was more disciplined and better communicated their message. Sony also was willing to show a good deal more of Vita than Nintendo was comparatively with Wii U.

With that said... Nintendo won because they showed enough to let you know that they're trying again. They tried with Wii, but relatively few developers gave it enough serious support, then we all know the start the system got off too. I think this time they showed us that they've turned much of that developer hesitancy into support and potentially enthusiastic support.

I get the sense that they're really holding back on a lot of info, their message sounded at first vague and confused but I wonder, I think Nintendo is a lot further along in the process than they want us to think. E3 was about the controller and the concept. I suspect next it's all going to be about games games games, and more games. While I think in the short term that hurts them PR wise I think if the hardware IS better than the current generation by a reasonable margin the bounce back from showing off the software will be enormous.

Remember, Miyamoto said that Pikmin 3 was going to be a 2011 game, I can't imagine it will take ALL that longer than this year to finish it for Wii U. I suspect Nintendo is planning a May or June launch for Wii U.

For me it was Sony. PS Vita $249.99 sealed the deal. Nintendo could have won, but they're press conference was a mess. What happened to last year's "Here's a bunch of games!" then reveal new hardware.

Microsoft won 'The Best Simulated Family' award for me. Yep, it's definitely Microsoft for an absolute master class in making people painfully aware that they're a large multinational corporation.

They were all mediocre.

Nintendo had Skyward Sword which I had no reservations about buying day one.

Sony had the Vita which sort of piqued my interest.

Microsoft was utter shite.

Picked Sony since I was going to get Skyward Sword anyway. Would have voted for a 'We Lose' option if it existed.

I voted Microsoft. The vote for Microsoft is all about the fact that they're winning right now and no one else did anything to change that. Microsoft is going to dominate the rest of 2011 and early 2012. They're a winner by default. All they had to do was show up.

Even though the Vita price was a nice surprise, it's addressing a limited market and is still a $250 handheld that's the same resolution as an iPhone 4. Nintendo was a mess. They can't fool me twice with a Zelda demo. I still remember the awesome feeling I had when I saw the Gamecube Zelda demo and the disappointment I felt playing that when it finally came out (OVER FIVE YEARS LATER!!!!).

What are they winning? Worldwide sales are right with the PS3...

I agree!

It's a pity they didn't bring Charlie Sheen out on stage with his crack pipe to bang 7 grams of rocks in front of the audience. I think they missed a trick there.

Well, I don't mind the whole "winning E3", since in the end it means nothing...but is still fun to participate and read.

Having said that; I found all 3 to be quite average, but voted for Microsoft anyway since I found them to be the most "balanced", in terms of new stuff to announce, "casuals", and stuff in general (based on my tastes..so don't quote me all like "lol Kinect, no exclusives, lol Fable is dead, etc. lololol ").

If I had to choose one, I'd go with Sony because they actually had some games that interested me. But instead of saying they had the "best" E3 showing, I'd say they had the "least bad" showing.

How does Microsoft have almost a 100 votes? I'm guessing those must have kids, cause damn near all the Kinect games are for the kiddies.

I think it's all the simulated families that live in 'Microsoft Village'. The sky is always blue and everywhere you go is brightly coloured. The adults and kids alike all wear the same generic 'corporation casual' clothing. Everyone is extremely happy and having so much fun all of the time.

Microsoft- All that Kinect shit but at leas there were some good regular games from 3rd and 1st parties.

Sony- Vita, looks like the best portable ever. Great 1st party and 3rd party games.

Nintendo- Caps off another year of nothing for the wii (well nothing for me anyways, Zelda will mark almost 2 years since I bought a wii game), Yay more n64 3ds ports! Not to sure about the WiiU don't want another system that has to live on the very few Nintendo games year.

Winner Sony! 2nd Nintendo Last MS

Nobody can definitively prove that one console or another is winning, so I'm not winning a criminal case, but I feel pretty good about my chances in a civil case.

The mod asked you to vote on which company had the best showing at this year's E3, not which console has the biggest sales worldwide.

I have no desire to get Vita at all, so the Sony conference outside of Uncharted 3 was very meh and boring.

I only watched the first half of the MS conference before I had to leave, but from what I saw it was alright. Even though it was spoiled a few hours before, the Halo 4 announcement and Halo CE made me happy.

For Nintendo's I'm liking what I'm seeing with the Wii U (in fact I like the name because immediately I thought of a Ricky Gervais show clip about reading Karl's diary and they were trying to pronounce wewe<-Link). Love the 3DS lineup they showed as well as the few DS games coming up. Luigi's Mansion 2 though, seals the deal for the shock and "Fuck Yeah!" factor.

So, Nintendo for me.

Too many people forgetting they had Halo 4, Forza 4, Gears 3, and XBLA games -- plenty to like without Kinect. Add in cloud saves, beacons, IPTV, Dance Central 2, Kinect Sports 2, etc. and they had a great show. Their conference could have been better balanced though.

Between Nintendo and Sony, who I thought we're neck and neck - going with Nintendo as the winner. Nintendo had a lot of software that interests me but Sony definitely won me with the PSVita, PS Suite and the idea of Dust 514. Cross-platform play is definitely of interest - especially when I can play the same game across 2 systems.

MS...if it wasn't a Kinect game, it was just more sequels to games that I have a passing interest in. I'd love to have a Kinect, but it doesn't do anything for me when I have no room for it to even play it. Other than cloud saves and the metro UI, everything shown was more of the same. :-/

All 3 failed for me this year.

Especially ms their showing was just poor and at times painful to watch.

If I had to vote though, I would give it to Nintendo only because the wiiu controller could possibly be revolutionary.

I voted for Sony in the end due to the Vita along with some of their software. The features of the Vita at that pricepoint is just insane and was a pleasant surprise since so many were saying $350 or $400. It's got every feature imaginable for developers to use and for me to enjoy and what little we know about its software has me excited. They had some great PS3 games to show off and U3 exceeded my expectations, but there were so many other games for them to show that they didn't have time for. I never thought I'd say they had too many games to show off in so little time... :D

Nintendo was a close second thanks to their 3DS software being shown which is what we've all been waiting for. I still hope to see some big third party games for it, but the first party titles are enough for me to be pleased. I just wish a Zelda title on the 3DS came out of nowhere but I knew not to expect it. The Wii U looks interesting but didn't have much to show yet so it's hard to say for sure what I think about it, but that Zelda HD video had me screaming like a little kid on Christmas morning. Once we really know how powerful it is in comparison to the other consoles, I might be a little more excited, but it's hard to be too hyped for it when we know nothing about it really. The Wii U gave people some slight idea as to what is to come, but you can only dream up of so many things on your own and remain realistic and still excited. It's almost like another investment like the 3DS is. Look at it and think of the things to come in the future and that's it...lol

Microsoft focused on the Kinect just like I thought and it left me extremely underwhelmed. It'd be better if more of their exclusives weren't just Kinect games I guess. That medieval game from Crytek had so much potential when I first heard about it but it was a major letdown for me.

I'm part of the skeptical crowd with WiiU -- never really cared for the Wii, so WiiHD with a touchscreen in the controller? No thanks. And from my hands on with the 3DS, I've not been impressed either, so the usual suspects lineup they have coming for that didn't do anything for me either.

MS was boring and stagnant to me. Anything that was first part was either Halo, which I don't really care for, or all about Kinect (save Gears 3, which is so close to launching, I'm already aware of it and plan to buy anyway). Third party stuff that's multiplatform? Yawn.

Sony is where it was at -- mostly for the Vita and the pricing of the Vita. That alone blew me away and now I sit like a little kid, waiting for the Holiday to get here so that maybe I'll find one under my Christmas tree. ;)

Honestly, EA was probably the conference that got me most excited which I thought I would never ever say. Mass Effect 3 will be game of 2012.

Otherwise, Sony wins due to Vita price and how they handled the online situation.

Nintendo has made me sick of Mario again. Took a while, I hadn't been sick of Mario since the Gamecube (and never before then) but it's too much now.

Microsoft was just garbage.

I'd say Sony with their excellent Vita showing - price, launch, and games all look superb. Nintendo were a close second with the Wii U and a decent 3DS lineup this year, but my scepticism of whether they can deliver both holds them back.

Microsoft just doesn't exist any more. The games industry is a two horse race now.

I will take Microsoft over Nintendo still. Wii is lackluster with it's lineup and Wii U is still just tech demos and small glimpses. 3DS lineup is decent but not amazing. Gears 3, Forza 4, The Witcher 2 (console exclusive), is better than what Nintendo has coming.

Hmmm, I don't know. Halo hasn't changed a bit over the last decade and I don't think the fourth will be any different. Gears 3 is also nearly identical to the first one. And Forza 4 will not look any better than the third game. I just can't get excited for any of it. I think it was a poor show indeed. Also, MS needs to explore the space in between the 'hard-core' franchises and that kinect stuff they showed (though perhaps XBLA is good for that).

This was my first time ever attending E3, and Sony gets my vote.

Sony: Between PS3 and Vita, Sony simply has the most games I'm looking forward to. It also doesn't hurt that the PS Vita matched the 3DS price, I didn't expect that at all. I'm glad they learned their lesson in pricing.

Nintendo: Since I am a Zelda whore, Nintendo may have gotten my vote if the HD Zelda tech demo was an actual game. I went to E3 without watching any of the press conferences and was excited when I saw that Zelda HD video on the show floor... but I was saddened to heard it was just a tech demo. I'm not sold on the Wii U until I know how the inevitable Marios and Zeldas play on the controller, but I don't think it matters too much since I always buy Nintendo systems for Mario and Zelda. There were also less 3DS announcements than I hoped for.

Microsoft: Not many surprises here. Ryse looks promising. I figured there would be a new Dance Central and Kinect Sports, and I will buy both. I'm not sure about Halo without Bungie. Forza 4 and Gears 3 look great but we already knew about them.

I think it's pretty amazing how Nintendo have kind of ruined Microsoft, then could very well come back to take MSs place if they get someone to run their online. Very clever.

Also, the Wii U bashing is understandable, but if they fix a few things up, like clearing up what it does to the general public, multi touch (not going to happen...), and a solid online system, it could make for an amazingly modular gaming platform. Fingers crossed.

Sony, they didnt have much of a competition this year though.
Microsoft has totally lost it, shame.
Nintendo, seems really confused.

I think Sony had the largest and most impressive catalogue. Nintendo's conference was good but only showed a small-ish amount of games. Microsoft, while not as bad as last year, did not perform well. With a focus on Kinect the hardcore were disappointed by the majority of the conference with only a handful of games saving it from being terrible.

Nintendo could have won if they had actually stuff to show. What we got are tech demos and a real confusing message during the conference. That made Sony win imo. Also 249€ was pretty good. Microsoft wasn't even in the competition. They only had a bunch of Kinnect shit and third party games that will be released everywhere else as well.

I think you underestimate the amount of excitement Sony got when they announced the price of the Vita. That alone made their E3 for many people I think.
Yea the Vita price was the only real megaton-feeling moment. I nearly yelled when it happened.

I voted Nintendo because the 3DS software looked awesome (Mario Kart looks like some real work to change it up is happening) and the possibilities presented by the Wii U controller. Dungeon Master style multiplayer with a U Pad and 4 Wiimotes opens up a huge amount of new possibilities.

Why isn't there a "They All Kind of Sucked" box? That's the one I'd pick.

Actually, that goes for E3 in general. It just sucked.

Sony. Nintendo doesn't just get a default win for having a new console to show.

It's extremely easy to make a new console reveal much more exciting than they did, so they basically had a machine gun and still lost the firefight to Sony's crossbow.

I couldn't even tell you off the top of my head what Microsoft brought to the table. A Halo game? Expected it, only got a cinematic, what else?

I picked Sony. They came out and announced a price for the Vita that I think was much lower than most people were expecting. Plus Bioshock Vita announcement.

My exact thoughts... on the software front, Sony did well too. They did have a few interesting games for the future, while Nintendo lacked on every front... Microsoft reminds me of Nintendo's previous E3, only worse.

I voted Sony, I was excited after the Vita price reveal but I thought overall Sony really drop the chance to just break E3. we know they have the content, rumors and news saying multiple Sony Dev working on new IP etc. E3 will break if Sony decide to reveal all their cards at once. SSM GoW4 or new IP, GG new action RPG fantasy game, Last Guardian, Sucker Punch new IP teaser, Sorcery, that flashlight move game shown briefly in last year montage.

so I was ready to think Nintendo as the winner of E3, what with new console and all, and I was anxiously wantin to see 3DS 3rd party games. unlike most people, I was super excited about Wii-U potential during the conference, I don't even confused it as a Wii add-on or just new controller. I think it was great, and they show some pretty fun ways to use it. then the conference ends, more news to appear, and apparently, Wii-U can only support 1 tablet controller. that is just hype killer for me. really killed Nintendo's E3 for this year and leave Sony as the sole winner of E3.

Sony easily won, IMO. Even if Sly 4 was their only "surprise" game announcement (which for me is amazing enough. I LOVE SLY), the rest of their stuff was a flurry of games coming out this year and next for PS3/PSVita. It's insane. Neither Nintendo nor Microsoft have any number comparable to Sony's software line-up. Though Nintendo's conference was close in quality to Sony's showing, IMO, because they had a few new games to show us, and the WiiU to unveil. But all in all it was still kind of underwhelming. The only two decent Wii games coming out this year are Kirby Wii and Skyward Sword, and it's almost embarrassing how Nintendo demonstrated they don't have anything else (although those games are still golden <3).

Plus, I don't know what it is about Sony. They make stupid decisions sometimes (lots of times) and they come off generally cocky about the choices that they make, but it seems like they genuinely care about being on the consumer's good side. I liked their humble apology about the PSN hacking, I liked the fact that they gave me free games and identity theft protection in return for my patience with them, I liked the fact that they acknowledged that 3D was an expensive barrier and that they tried to make it cheaper for their audience by offering their bundle, and I loved the fact that they set an early goal to make the successor to the PSP $249. I feel like they're trying a lot of things to bridge the gap between their target consumer audience and the things that hold them back from full indulgence (the biggest hurdle being price of anything Sony pushes).

I feel like Nintendo's trying to do it now too, with the WiiU and trying to win back the hardcore. But for some reason it didn't feel as sincere to me as Sony's reaching out at E3.

By the way, it seems that E3 really isn't the same for Sony as it is Nintendo. Sony likes to announce and reveal drops of game information year round, regardless of E3. They announced Starhawk just a few weeks ago, after all.

Nintendo's the opposite. We're lucky if we hear anything about a game before the E3 or a private conference of that year. On the brightside, it usually leads to "Wow, this game exists! And it comes out this year!" but on the downside it means we go really long droughts without knowing anything about upcoming games...until E3 that is.

Well Nintendo has Kirby Wii and Skyward Sword and I'd say both of those are mega-blockbusters in terms of game quality :P

they need to fix that 1 tablet limit per console. at this point, I'm probably more excited with the possibility of Sony copying this feature with a PS3 (or PS4) and 4 PS Vita connected with wifi or bluetooth.

Nintendo always half ass their hardware only for Sony to somehow make it better.
