Has anyone seen Angel Heart? It's a long series and Ani-Kraze has been subbing it for a while. Wondering if it is worth while.
yeah, its pretty decent. nothing omg good, but if you enjoy the somewhat oldschool setup you will enjoy it.

I thought the manga(and anime too) was excellent until the end of the whole first arc thing
where it goes back to original city hunter shit

Well guess I should like it since I love City Hunter. :lol

D.Gray Man starts out in a rather compelling way - I can't remember for sure, but I think it was up til about episode 10 that I thought it would actually be a very unique show. The designs of the demons are pretty spectacular to begin with, and I for one am a sucker for alternative universe anime (in this case, the turn of the 20th century) and there were a couple emotional bits shortly into it that made me misty eyed like a sap. If you like shounen anime at all it's probably worth it to just check it out, but you need to beware that like many other shounen anime, it's full of filler episodes (Naruto!), drawn out fights/tension (Dragon Ball Z!), and often annoying characters (all of them!).

That said, it's really one of the few in the genre I like, hence it being my guilty pleasure :lol There isn't anything drastically unique about it by this point, but it can have some very strong scenes, some amazing fights, and the animation can sometimes hit pretty good levels (other times it sort of dangles at average). It's slowly been getting into "OMGEPICTHISISGONNABETHESHIT" mode for the last 20 episodes or so, and there's even been a pretty significant amount of secondary characters killed off.

As to no second season of Baccano, :( It ended so perfectly anyway, but I thought that was awesome news. I look forward to seeing the bonus ones anyway (I saw that there's three additional ones, not sure about this).

I so freakin' love D-gray Man right now. The season episodes 52 and onward was just pure awesome.

The funny thing was that the initial episodes intrigued me well even, some somber episodes and all, but the first season or whatever it was (1-52), a good chunk of it was filler, and I can't keep feeling when it's going to get into the nitty gritty, it seems like all side missions. You start to lose disinterest. Near the end of the season it looked it was really heading somewhere. Doing some research, it pretty much just that a lot of filler padded things along, like a third of it.

But now ever since the newer season started for the past 20 or so episodes, it been going into one nonstop giant connected arc worth something and fairly heart breaking at times. I'm completely hooked! I love the this season's intro. Of course the pacing has slowed down considerably, but I guess you can't always have your cake and eat it too.

I caught up with Clannad and I've noticed that in Air/Kannon/Clannad I almost always find the individual girl story arcs to be like filler and zzz (though I did really like the sword girl's arc in Kanon) and the ensemble eps or main girl eps are really good.

It seems like in the girl arcs, the show doesn't develop the lead guy AT ALL or the worldview/story for that matter. Which is basically the reason why fillers are boring in anime, because nothing is advanced and its all just a waste of time though possibly entertaining. During the group eps, there's real character/plot development and the eps are good and the show is interesting.

With Clannad, like how many eps had it been since the main guy's dad or messed up arm was brought up before 15/16? It's like the first few eps setup some stuff and then it was just ignored totally for boring filler arcs.

Seriously, 13eps or bust for these type of shows. That way they can make the girl arcs 1-2 eps max and at least they won't drag the real story/development.

Clannad has been failing for a while imo. They can't figure out how to juggle the characters and are pretty much rushing. It's fallen apart.

Bebpo, watch True Tears. It's this sort of show done right and only 13 episodes. Plus excellent and consistent production values and storytelling.

I saw ep1 of TT. Seemed well done so I'll probably check out the rest eventually. I don't really like the genre tbh and just watch KEY stuff because they have neat fantasy stories, but I'll give it a shot.

Clannad is pretty iffy. Fuko's arc draggggged, and Tomoko's arc was stupid. 15/16 were good again though. Also the super nice KEY x KyoAni animation seems to have left the building many eps ago. Visually the show is very standard these days.

How the hell did they spell Baccano! wrong not once, but three times, and with different spellings each time? I'm impressed.

I am not amused.

I'm somewhat sad Mononoke hasn't been awarded by anyone. Coil and Lagann usually get the "Best of TV..." mentions; but they never give nothing to Mononoke.

My Moyashimon manga came today. :D

Volume 6 came in a huge box...

Holy shit I am loving True Tears.

I just finished episode 3 or was it 4. I am really trying to pace myself. Only 1 episode a day, because soon, I will have to wait a week for it.

You and me both. True Tears is probably one of my favourite anime this season [Shigofumi being the other :D]. Its the first anime I've watched in this genre (are other anime in genre as good as True Tears?) and I can't seem to wait for Episode 9!

Shigofumi? Hmm, another one to check out now. I plan on watching the one fansubbed by the same team as True Tears.

I have watched a couple in this genre...and I didn't find them nearly as good.
One I watched was Honey and Clover...which got old fast and was cheesy.

I think another is Love Hina, though that one was a little more over the top. Didn't like it because the main character is such a wuss.

I am not sure what genre this exactly is. Would Beck fit into this Genre, because I really enjoyed Beck.

you are dead to me.

:lol Yeah, a lot of people loved it. The first few episodes were interesting...but then it just got kind of cheesy.

I stopped when:

The guy who keeps getting shady jobs kisses the little art prodigy girl.

Have you seen Nana? You'll like it :D

Oh yeah! I was told to watch it. Though it's centered around a female, right? I think Beck was more enjoyable to me because it was centered around a male, so I can relate more.

Nana, and Beck never heard of those I'll be sure to check those out ;) i've heard of Love Hina before but apparently you'll begin to lose interest midway through the series is that true?

I just saw the first episode of Shigofumi. Ehhh, I thought it was OK. It was really really odd.

I also saw the first episode of Vampire Rosario. Seems a little perverted with all those panty shots :lol , but it was decent. I am going to watch a couple more.

Thing with Shigofumi is that it takes a little while to get really into, but once you do it pretty good. I also tried Rosario + Vampire i thought it was quite sad, I watch 4 episodes to see if it turned out good but it didn't. All the hentai type scenes put me off.

New Slayers series announced! :D
Also, more School Rumble and Ikkitousen. Tons of announcements today. :D
Also, about Slayers. It will apparently be 26 eps, divided in two seasons. Brand new anime story. All the original actors including Megumi Hayashibara as Lina will apparently be back. Made by JC Staff, Takashi Watanabe will direct.

I just peeked in here to snoop around. And one question that has really been bothering me. And I have to ask knowing that someone will have insight.

What has happened to the love for Big Robot Anime? It seems that there interest in it has died.

I want stuff like Gundam Macross Gasaraki you know? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Did you watch Gurren Lagann last year?

Rosario + Vampire definitely has it's fair share of fan service lolol... I've went on ahead and read through the manga... if the anime follows the storyline accurately(it has for the most part), then I'm sure more ppl will have it grow on them...

And as far as big robots go... Gundam 00!!!!

Anyone watching Wolf and Spice?
I just started the first episode...and pretty iffy on it at the moment.
yea, it isn't too exciting but kinda nice
like relaxing and watching a nice river in the evening with furry fish swimming in it

The last few seasons were full of robot shows (though not necessarily like the ones you've mentioned), but this one basically only has Gundam 00 (+ Dragonault, but Dragonault is really bad).

I'm enjoying the kind of other worldly feel that the show has, It kind of reminds me of Haibane Renmei. There's something mysterious about everything, but the show doesn't feel the need to pursue it and instead just goes at it's own pace.
