An amazing next-gen feature seen only in cutting-edge PC releases like Quake 1.
Yeah, that's what it reads like as well:It reads like Wired guessing what the practical uses are not them actually reporting thats what MS is going to do.
Hopefully its true though, obviously.
Perhaps most intriguing, however, is that Xbox One gives game developers the ability to access Microsofts Azure cloud computing platform. That leads to a few obvious and immediate applications: All your downloaded and installed games and achievements are synced to the cloud and can be accessed and played without interruption on any Xbox One you sign in to; stable, dedicated servers for every multiplayer game rather than the notoriously fragile practice of hosting matches on one participants console;
Sounds way too good to be real.
I do not yet understand what they need all these servers for.
They're probably activation servers instead of multiplayer servers. If they don't keep enough activation servers online, a major release could crash the system.
LET'S hope sony can do it as well
Sonys been doing this shit since the launch of the PS3 hombre

Every PS3 game has dedicated servers?
Dedicated matchmaking servers like the 360 already has?
Or actual game servers?
300,000 servers worldwide.
