Witcher 3: Blood & Wine - New Screenshots

Can't wait for this. Witcher 3 is just an easy game to play for hours on end. Very compelling environment and narrative.

Exactly. I am really looking forward to hopping back into it to start a fresh play through after the intensity of Dark Souls III. Amazing game and I love the series, but I am always ready to dial it back a few notches after beating a Souls game. The Witcher 3 is probably the most beautiful and awe inspiring game I have ever played and it is just a pleasure to sit back and enjoy.

Looks great, excited to buy the season pass approx. one week before Blood & Wine releases, that should give me the time to play through Hearts of Stone first.

Beautiful, I love that they scrapped the gray boring look for more colour in general for Witcher 3, but this is just insane, looks amazing.

Beautiful shots! Bring it on with Toussaint, the land of wine and honey, pretty girls and careless decadence. My favorite area of The Witcher franchise (what does that say about me? :-)) and that sunny vibe will make it a pleasure to play during the spring/summer months.

Imagine all of that beautiful lighting that sporadically changes throughout the day/night cycle in this environment.

Witcher 3 was far from gray and boring. I used a SweetFX preset because I found it TOO colorful.

I think he meant that W3 in general is colorful in contrast to W1/2.

Also hurry up and release please! Geralt back in 2016 to claim GOTY one last time.

Yeah, the game has so much life I am floored every single time I play it. Especially with all of the color changes throughout the day with the sun. The kind of scenes that make me stop playing and just stare all slack-jawed. No matter where you go in the world, the hand crafted feel and artistry is incredible.

I'm SO happy I haven't played Hearts yet. When this releases, playing both back to back will be like playing an entirely new (full) game.

Hope they allude to things in the main story differently depending on where you're currently at with it. Was a nice touch with HoS.

It's meant to be partly self contained, just like Hearts of Stone, but there will be references I'm sure. Dandelions voice actor has said that he's in it in some form, and well, two other characters from the base game will be there, although probably not physically. Something more akin to a series of letters from a dear friend. ;)

I bet the one with the crown is Anna Henrietta.
Dandelion's lover
.

It is her. Read the description on Facebook. A few book characters will be appearing, they've spoken about it a tiny bit.
She's his ex :P Essi Priscilla's better. ;)

Is that a Bruxa?

It's an Alp. Bruxae have mental faculties so witchers usually leave them alone, IIRC. Alp's are completely savage by comparison. Bruaxe are also mentioned in the leaked docs, back when they were using the old VATS-like combat system. I think it's safe to say both will appear.

Reminds me of those TW1 fuckers.

Those things owned! It's not the only TW1 monster that will show up. ;) The Alp is in the leaked screenshot, and there are going to be quite a few others. From what's already in the files, there's a lot of monster variety in Toussaint.

Nice. I wanted to start a new playthrough yesterday so I got the PS4 version. Will definitely need to get this when it comes out. Need to do the Hearts of Stone too actually.

Looks excellent.

So I just recently finished W3, and during the end-game sequence:

Zoltan asks Dandelion what he's going to do, and he replies that he's a some sort of Count and wants to get his title back. It seems like a nod toward Blood & Wine. Would that mean that this is a post-Wild Hunt story expansion?

That's from the books, as far as I know they have confirmed that this expansion takes place during the main game.

It takes place during the events of the game, just like Hearts of Stone. That part is referencing the books. Dandelion and the Monarch of Tousainnt, Anna Henrietta (who is in the one screenshot) have history.

[Book spoilers]
They have an affair. Anna's husband conveniently dies, opening the door for Dandelion but he couldn't keep it in his pants and gets busted trying to bang another duchess. Anna originally sentences him to death, but then changes her mind and banishes him from Toussaint. He was a viscount, so when he was banished, he lost his title and land.

Can't waaaaait. Looks amazing.

I'm going to be so sad when this finishes. Can't they just keep making DLC for another year or so? :(

I would just prefer that they made another Witcher over Cyberpunk.

After all, that is where the money is. TW3 put them on top, and while I am sure Cyberpunk is going to be amazing as well, The Witcher is clearly their bread and butter and it absolutely has to continue now that they have reached such mainstream status because of it.

But of course, Cyberpunk is well on the way and I have no doubt that CDPR will have yet another extraordinary game for us. Now whether it reaches the crowd that The Witcher 3 has remains to be seen. Either way, the developers there are in a league of their own and I am ready for anything they do.
