Witcher 3: Blood & Wine - New Screenshots

Witcher 3 was far from gray and boring. I used a SweetFX preset because I found it TOO colorful.

I know, that's what I'm saying, the original shots of Witcher 3 were very desaturated and dull, the final release was colourful in a really nice way and it seems Blood & Wine utilizes colour even better :)

yeah
no Iorvith
is basically my only issue with the game. There's no focus on the elves in general.

Uhhhhh
(Elves are the Big Bad Evil of the Main Game + The Great Frost thing)

Although I admit the game lacked focus on non-humans in general. Oh well, nothing's perfect.

I would just prefer that they made another Witcher over Cyberpunk.

After all, that is where the money is. TW3 put them on top, and while I am sure Cyberpunk is going to be amazing as well, The Witcher is clearly their bread and butter and it absolutely has to continue now that they have reached such mainstream status because of it.

But of course, Cyberpunk is well on the way and I have no doubt that CDPR will have yet another extraordinary game for us. Now whether it reaches the crowd that The Witcher 3 has remains to be seen. Either way, the developers there are in a league of their own and I am ready for anything they do.

They could do a Witcher 2 remaster and I would be so happy. Give the facial tech, smoother gameplay and faster asset streaming of the new REDKit, plus TW2's superior overall main story... hmm! I could die a happy man.

I doubt they'll ever touch TW1 again though. A W1 remaster was worked on for the PS360 called The Rise of the White Wolf, but got cancelled after it nearly bankrupted the company, and negatively affected TW2's development as well. They ended up cutting the originally planed third chapter for TW2, and then chapter four in Loc Muinne was made into chapter 3 in the final product.

I honestly don't know where they could take the Witcher. They've said that Geralt is done. Using Ciri is unrealistic as she's so OP. It would be impossible to balance. Even in TW3, she wrecks everything, it's so easy. They could go back in time and use Vesemir during the time when Witchers weren't hated and scorned, but at the same time, people associate The Witcher with Geralt now. It's a tough situation.

Yeah, I remember Rise of the White Wolf and was crushed when it got cancelled. As far as where they could take it, I don't know, as I have not read all of the books. But I do think that Ciri is the logical choice. They could of course balance her powers and make it work for the game. Either that or just go off the rails and let us create our own Witcher. I would sure as hell be down for that.

They have announced that they will be releasing two AAA RPGs between 2017 and 2021. I can assure you one of them is definitely The Witcher.

Technically, Ciri isn't even a witcher. :p She never underwent the mutations.

I don't think there's any way to balance Ciri. You how she was like at
the end of the game, where she one hit killed everything?
That's what she's meant to be like all the time. After
Guanter O'Dimm
from the Hearts of Stone expansion, she's the most powerful person in the world. There's also the trouble of the endings for TW3.
She can die and if she becomes Empress, she can't really go on adventures either.

I'd rather they keep the "make your own character" thing for Cyberpunk. I think The Witcher games work so well because we're playing as a premade character. I'd like them to keep that aspect for future titles. Give me game with Labert or Eskel, that would be different. Lambert is Lambert, and Eskel is basically simple Geralt. :P

This looks great, I have waited for all the DLC to get released before starting the Witcher 3. I have a habit once I put down a game I don't go back for DLC. Now do I play it on My 980 TI or wait got the 1080...... HMMMMMM,

I am actually quite disappointed with CDPR and their weird want for nothing in the Witcher 2 to actually matter. It cheapened the story in 2 for me.

That is disappointing. TW3 was sorely lacking those two.

It sucks, and in my opinion, was the wrong thing to do, but all we can hope for now is that we can a proper explanation sometime soon. Hopefully, if an EE is made, Iorveth's content gets finished and added back in. His story arc should have been there.

They pretty much made Roche's path canon.

Nope, that's the best part. The game combines both, and has this weird Frankenstein series of events going on. Doesn't matter if you import or not, it's completely inconsistent. The only reason to import a save is to get that sweet tattoo.

Oh man, I haven't finished vanilla Witcher 3 yet but I'm tempted to get this based on how it looks! Does the story follow the base game's or is it more of a spin off?

Ok Gaf?
I have not beat the base game yet, I am afraid if I do I won't want to go back and do any DLC quests.
Is it ok to do the DLC before I finish the game, I assume the DLC quests take place before the end game and not a continuation.

Do the DLC quests before finishing the main quest "Battle Preparations" where you have to do 3 tasks and then then speak to someone on a boat, which then triggers a cutscene and the final battle. Get the point where everything is safe and sorted, and then do the DLC.

You can do them afterwords too, but the game pretends like you're doing them before the end.

You can also beat the base game now, then just reload later and use the earlier save. Up to you. That's how I did it anyway.

I don't want to play through the game again, I think I remember someone mentioning the previous expansion had an option to auto level up and just start it right there correct? I do want to play both expansions when this comes out.

Yes, you have the option of starting the DLC quest with a properly leveled Geralt and the Main Quest Line disabled.

I'm going throuh Heart of Stone right now and it's freaking amazing.
Blood and Wine will be glorious.

Be warned that the level of the expansions quests is higher than the base game, so difficulty wise it could be hard to play the expansions before the base game, depending on what difficulty level you are using.

That is how you do DLC, considering the price and content in most if not every other publisher/developer's Season Passes, the one for The Witcher 3 seems like a steal now.

I thought they said this was the last one? I'm sad about that.

It is & that is why War Peaceman is asking for them to do more. I'm not sure about another expansion but they did say they would continue adding to the game to make it more appealing for people to buy. Might be more small DLC or simply an Enhanced Edition.

I would love them to make more DLC. On one hand I can't for Blood & Wine but on the other it will be mean the end of the Witcher 3. I guess they will do a Witcher 4 at some point in the distant future but still...it's such an amazing game and there is so much they could do yet in this world of The Witcher.

I think I'll try that, thanks.

Hmm I don't remember what level I am, what level do you recommend?
