Witcher 3 Enhanced version on Next Gen and PC

Still planned for this year.

Season 5 Guys GIF by Girls on HBO

No way this is still coming out this year. I don't believe anything CDPR says at this point lol.

This remaster was announced like 2 years ago and we got zero screenshots, gameplay or info since than and we are expected to believe they are releasing this within the next 2 months….

I hate when I see these type of hype threads and I enter and discover is a necrobump of a old thread with no new info.

I really just want to see screens of what they're doing. I'm happy to wait but you can make the game look pretty good right now with not much modding.

I will still be surprised if this ends up looking better than the 'HD Reworked Project' mod on PC.
Now this update AND the HD Reoworked project could be a very spicey combo though.

How heavy is this and how hard is to install with vortex?

It's very easy to install. Just follow the instructions.
Extract the content in your Witcher 3 main folder and replace all folders/files.

Should use more vram and ram. But asides from that, it should not have a big performance impact.

Still can't play this on PC in DX12 without horrendous traversal stutter. Ended up picking it up on PS5 instead and haven't looked back.

Why play it in DX12 then? Old version (1.31) with this mod spanks PS5 version. And it performs wonderful other than shader compliation stutter at first 5-10 minutes. Rock solid 144fps at 1440p with RTX 4080s and with hariworks and all other stuff at max. GPU barely hit 80% usage at very very rare situations. Give it a try.

No RT effects in DX11 mode.

I was just thinking of doing another run with the game during the past weeks, this is super fortuitous 🕺

I mean PS5 runs RT mode at 30 IIRC and with huge drops to 25 at big cities like Novigrad! PC RT mode at 30fps is doable even with a Ryzen 3600x. I personally capped it at 50 with i5 14600K and it was very solid.

improved textures and models are great, but what's really missing here is the enhanced lighting and particle effects shown off in the first W3 trailer

The mod killed my framerate - in Novigrad it fills my 16GB RAM like nothing and then framerate drops. So I guess it requires 32.
Looks nice though.

CDPR is getting as good as Blizzard about updating their old games. Unlike Blizzard, they don't charge you for it.

Yep, and RT mode isn't as good as on PC.

Still, I don't blame anyone preferring the PS5 version instead. For some reason they stopped halfway with the DualSense support on PC. It works out of the box and has adaptive trigger support, yes. And then they thought "let's stop here and not include haptic feedback, like when you're on horseback".

I think it does but you need wired connection for complete DualSense features on games that support it.
I know this sucks, i'm a "PCMR" but keep being laughed at when console players see me with my USB cable every time.
Sony won't care it seems.

Unfortunately it does not (unless they really fixed it in the past couple of months). I've tested it intensively right at release for the next gen update and several patches and months later. Because of this wired restrictions I always play games on PC wired with the DualSense. Don't want another potential culprit for things that don't work. Even when I'm gaming on my TV with my PC I'm using a wired controller connection.
And after comparing the PS5 version back to back with the PC version I've noticed this. Simply an oversight from CDPR but they didn't care for fixing it. Maybe they have now, but last time I checked (several months ago but still long after release and some patches) they haven't.

More generally speaking, the lack of certain conventions suck. I always have to dig through boards and forums for feedback on DualSense support and features whenever I have to decide whether to get the PS5 or PC version.

Yeah i wholly understand your point as i'm also very fond of the DualSense and always try to find infos about whether it's supported or not.
Hogwart Legacy or Cyberpunk are totally different experiences with it.

It's still mostly 2015 game, character models are poor by today's standards.

I guess so. My mind still remembers it as a visual revolution that needs me to upgrade from a 970 to 1080 to appreciate hair works.

Eh, these are a couple of screenshots I took around the time the enhanced edition launched and I wouldn't say that's the case:

If you're using the texture mod then there's the possibility the colour grading isn't meshing well with them.

It definitely looks better outside the city:

New textures are very nice.

Is it a truly noticeable upgrade or more of some textures here and there that are improved? I finished my fourth play through earlier this year with the next-gen upgrade. I also just bought a new TV and maybe just maybe this might be worth another 100+ hours of my life. The Witcher 3 is like gaming comfort food
