With a new COD out, lets reminisce about MW2!

Personally, it was an amazing experience for me. Playing online was a blast and getting the nuke in a life or death situation was tons of fun. Maps were great also. Yes the game wasn't fully balanced, but it was a ton of fun to play! I'm still searching for the same feeling from another COD game.

What are your favorite memories from playing MW2?

Just having fun with my friends while playing, we'd rush home to play and stay up all night. I think mw2 was the last cod that was like that for my group.

The single player was a rush.

Pulling the knife out of finish Shepard was amazing.

And all the memes that came out of him and Foley saying "Ramieriz!" were good, too.

Watching booster justice videos on youtube, and proceeding to have the most fun I have ever had by stopping boosters in FFA matches. It came at a time I was starting to get bored with the game, and it just became like a new game mode for me.

The multiplayer system was just the perfect balance of customization. IMO the multiplayer system has just gradually become more bloated with each entry since. But those maps tho were so awesome.

Loved MW2 even though it was so unbalanced. Around the Christmas it came out, there were so many broken things/glitches.

I distinctly remember going into a Dom match with everyone on both team using Akimbo 1887s, harrier jets and chopper gunners everywhere. And at least half of the players were attempting to do the care package glitch.

Good times, good times. Probably a tie for my favorite maps in the series with Cod 4 as well.

The mario kart of first person shooters.

An absolute unbalanced disaster with way too much focus on killstreaks and snowballing. Fun in a "let's rush a tac nuke with terrifying efficiency then stop playing" way.

The Spec Ops mode was my favorite thing about MW2 and unless I didn't pay attention it seems like the devs didn't expand on it much or include it again. That one level from The Rock was awesome.

My friends and I loved playing 3rd person team tactical. The game was so arcadey and fast paced. I loved running around like a madman with the akimbo g18s. Sucks they took that mode it in future cods.

Bish hunting for trolls.

Don't play CoD but MW2 had this airport scene right?

The overpowered Knife stab is what I remember the best.. so..

and in MW1 I got to the last prestige (that solid gold star).. in MW2 I got to the second last prestige.. then the cheaters appeared on PS3..

loved those games..

This is the best gif.

MW2 was my first CoD that I actually played a ton. Got it because all of my friends were and yeah it was pretty fun. I have some good memories.

BLOPS 2, though. That's definitely my favourite CoD. Some fantastic times on that game. (Probably because that was near post-highschool so I was down to groups of 3-4 friends, vs groups of 8-10 friends of friends)

Nukes weren't that bad, people just over exaggerated them, I rarely saw nukes and I played a ton and prestiged a few times

I loved MW2, best starting gun that I used a ton and the maps were heaven before snipers x the game got broken

Good times :)

Akimbo 1887 gods

One man army, knives, super accurate LMGs, akimbo 1887 or the spas 12, and the ridiculous kill streaks. I love all of it.

MW2 was the best game to play with friends, forget tactics, and just talk mess.

I guess I was doing it wrong as my comment was going to refer to the God-awful burger town, or whatever it was called, level. Never played it online..

I should've tried that :(

Watching booster justice videos on youtube, and proceeding to have the most fun I have ever had by stopping boosters in FFA matches. It came at a time I was starting to get bored with the game, and it just became like a new game mode for me.

Ah yes, it was fun every now and then messing them up. Can't believe people boosted for a nuke emblem. Nothing beat, getting it the legitimate way. Nothing was worse than being 1 kill away and get taken down. Heart breaking.

The multiplayer system was just the perfect balance of customization. IMO the multiplayer system has just gradually become more bloated with each entry since. But those maps tho were so awesome.

Maps were some of the best. I only disliked Quarry. Why can't all COD games have such good maps?

Not the huge CoD person, but I'll always remember the insane fun of MW2. Highrise Domination and throwing knife madness <3

Spec-ops mode and the fully featured split screen multiplayer made the game the best thing ever. The online and campaign were very eh though, and a big disappointment coming from CoD4

I was so disappointed with campaign and MP. Spec Ops was fun though.

The soundtrack was/is amazing. I still listen to it.

Why MW2???

We all know what the GOAT was.

MW2 was such a cluster-fuck.

Of course COD4 was GOAT - no question about it. MW2 was a fun arcade shooter with just a bunch of shit happening. I had Halo for my serious competitive needs and MW2 to just have fun in and play solo. I loved MW2 so much because I could just play solo and still wreck house.

Activision's very own precursor to the Vex Mythoclast (prepatch).

This was the game that got me into multiplayer shooters and is the one that holds that nostalgic "magic" feeling for me.

I had previously mostly just played the single player campaigns in CoD games and avoided the multiplayer altogether, I just wasn't interested in it (probably because I was terrible at it).

Then I got super sick for a couple of weeks and ended up at home on the couch without much to do. Decided to give MW2 multiplayer a try and got addicted.

To this day I still think MW2's maps are on another level compared to everything that has come since (as a mostly TDM player). I love the asymmetry and how the maps work well with every playstyle, and they encouraged those great cat-and-mouse situations (avoiding a sniper on Rundown, sneaking into the cabin through the basement on Estate, etc.) that the modern games don't quite get. The newer games seem more based on speed, symmetry and arena-like maps and don't quite scratch the same itch.

MW2 had such great potential, but 2 things screwed it up.

-Grenade launchers
-Scavenger

Especially when those two were together. Explosions were the worst.

Black Ops 2 was my favorite Call of Duty game since Modern Warfare. So i can't freaking wait for Treyarch's next CoD game next year. Imo they are by far the best developer's now for this franchise.

If they took out tubes, one man army/scavenger, the knife range, the nuke, returned the higher kill streaks, and stopped quickscoping, this game would be one of the GOATS.

As is stands, it's still easily the most fun COD game (though MW is better overall).

It was all downhill from here. Everything after it was worse.

SPAS-12 The most satisfying gun I've ever used.

This. It was pretty balanced, too. Outside of the effective range it did nothing.

MW2 was an unbalanced mess but I still had fun with it especially hacked 18 player deathmatches on rust. Why they make deathmatches only 8 players I will never understand.

I was just doing this with my brother the other day. I was telling him about how I used to make a javelin loadout, and then when I played on Estate, always pick that loadout. If we spawned at the top spawn, I'd shoot it down the hill and to the right of the warehouse. At the bottom spawn, shoot it up the hill to the left of the house. Guaranteed 2-3 kills to start the match every time, 4-5 if I was lucky. Then I went back and looked at my playtime. 270 some odd hours on PS3 alone. Goddamn.
