With a new COD out, lets reminisce about MW2!

I hated MW2. My favorite part was fully abusing Akimbo 1887's as it perfectly fit that clusterfuck.

I actually laughed out loud at work on this, got some funny looks!! Brilliant!

that scene was doctored.. but it was to make fun of this..

Derail was the only bad map and Baghdad sucked too. MW2 was fun because it was broken.

MW2 was great because so many play styles were viable:

Conventional
run and gun
run and knife
sniping - camping
sniping - quick scope
One man army + danger close + noob tube

It was fun to play for many hours. Nothing more to it.

Maybe he's at Respawn?

Or reload?

Ok i found something.

Then Grant Collier, co-founder, president of Infinity Ward, Inc and spokesman for Infinity Ward, suddenly left the IW company. He joined the mother company, Activision, Inc. as a CEO "special projects" and never spoke in public again.

There was no official announcement from Infinity Ward. His departure was quiet, and there was no explanation.

That's really strange.

MW2 was the game that made me stop touching the series entirely.

I got incredibly bored with the mission where you had to go back and forth between fast food places. Maybe it was a commentary on America's back and forth with such places, but it was sincerely awful gameplay.

The Spec Ops mode was my favorite thing about MW2 and unless I didn't pay attention it seems like the devs didn't expand on it much or include it again. That one level from The Rock was awesome.

Spec Ops was amazing, they did include it in MW3 but it wasn't as good.

MW3 had Spec Ops and Survival though, so plenty of content.

For as glitchy and unbalanced as it was, I absolutely loved it. It was just so much fun. When are we gonna get a COD4/MW2 remaster?

MW2 was damn amazing.

ENEMY AC-130 ABOVE

The first time you would see an enemy get that was incredible. The sheer terror of it, or excitement when it was someone on your team who got it.

A perfect CoD for me would be MW2 with MW3's scorestreak system and BO2's Pick 10 system. Have the guns and maps of MW2 but let players build up their streaks not just by killing but by helping their team overall (with weaker streaks offered for players who want to be able to continue after death and stronger streaks offered for players who must get their streaks within one life).

I haven't played AW yet but want to.

Best rifle btw:

unless you were one of those hipsters who used the AK or an mlg pro tryhard who used the FAMAS.

I loved the spas-12, I wanted to take it behind the high school bleachers and get it pregnant.

Mw2 was the last cod where shotguns were fun.

The Remington shotgun in Black Ops 2 was totally viable and satisfying! Pump!

Best game in the series to me.Still has the best weapon handling in the series to me, the most gratifying kill streak set up to go along with the most fun to use kill streaks, fantastic maps that encouraged a variety of different play styles( which helped in letting MW2 still feel fresh even years later), and good hit detection. It was unbalanced for sure, but that's not necessarily a negative to me, it depends on the extent of how powerful the weapon is, and really the grenade launcher( combined with OMA) was the only thing I really took issue with tbh( it did become game breaking after a while).

I hope a remaster of MW2 comes one day, these last few Call of Duties have paled in comparison imo.

The ACR was a great weapon, but I didn't use it much. Great gun though.

Yeah, very interesting indeed. Maybe we have to scan credits now to find him.

Best cod imo, sure Oma and danger close was bullshit but I loved the mp so much, 10 different load outs was almost not enough.

Yeah i know, I get the gag that was why it was so funny, I loved MW2 it was the only game I 10th'nd on, but the crazy commando knife perk was ridiculous...great gif!

I loved MW2.. I have no idea how many hours I put into it on my PS3, but we are talking ALOT..

COD4 had me join a small danish clan, we played for fun but also had tournament matches. Was a great way to meet new players.

With MW2 I ran a website with 30+ friends.. we all played MW2 alot in the beginning.. we had some very fun private tournaments where the winner got a special avatar on our website.. it was really fun.. But I was the only one who kept playing.. I just never found the power to go through the last prestige.
You need to remember I was in my 30´s with 2 kids (3 now) a fulltime job 8-5 every day, new house etc.. but somehow I still managed to play ALOT of hours every fucking night.. this game had me hooked, even though there was alot wrong with the game..

What fucking good way? Please explain.

I can explain, but you don't have to agree.

No bullshit, to me MW2 is my most *FUN* multiplayer FPS of all time. I will always remember all the crazy fun and long time I spent playing it. I'm glad there are at least a few GAFers who seem to agree.

It has some of the greatest MP glitches of all time, which I found absolutely hilarious and awesome. I used (abused) every single one of these:

-- Javelin glitch
-- Akimbo 1887s
-- Commando knifing
-- infinite Care Packages glitch
-- One Man Army with Pro Pipe (grenade launcher)
-- bombing Domination spots from the start of a match with OMA Pro Pipe by shooting them way up in the air (so the opposing team can't even capture their first point, lol)
-- Chopper Gunner / AC130 on that terminal airport map (you can get endless spawn point kills if it hovers around that gift shop area)

I think I'm even forgetting a couple things. But the biggest regret about MW2 was they did not have stat tracking back then. You wouldn't believe how many Javelin/Pro Pipe/Knife/1887 kills I had... so much fun!

Needless to say, I absolutely hated BO1 because they took all those things out. I literally have not played a COD since that one, because the real Infinity Ward got broken up.

I'm not sure if there will ever be a MP FPS that I will have more fun with than MW2.

Loved MW2. It wasn't as good as MW1, but still an excellent, excellent game. Crash and Strike from MW1 are my two favorite CoD maps ever but Favela from MW2 comes very close.

Come to think of it, among other things the map quality has gone down with each CoD game, and I think that's played a role in my liking each one a little less. AW maps seems solid so far but nothing standout. MW1 and 2 had some brilliant maps and not just one or two, especially in MW1's case, almost every map was excellent.

What happened to this guy? i remember seeing him all the time for MW interviews but when MW2 came up he got replaced. They fired him or something? he was one of the more responsible people why CoD4 was such a masterpiece.

I can't find a thing on him on post 2010. He just vanished. Something about "special projects" at Activision and then nothing.

I didn't abuse those glitches and I still had tons of fun.

The SEALs maps had to be the best. Sub Base and Karachi.

I might even prefer it to Cod 4 so yeah, I liked it a lot. Sure some weapons, perks and killstreaks were insane but the maps and overall quality and production value of the game was amazing. They took Cod 4 and actually improved on it in many aspects, which is something every entry ever since has completely forgot about.

MW2 was not "the beginning of the end". Cod peaking around MW and MW2 and just getting worse and worse after that is the reason for its downfall.

MW2 is still such an oddity to me. It had so much going for it, fantastic maps, good weapon selection, and arguably the best netcode in the series. Shame it was such an unbalanced mess. I would be lying if I said I didn't have fun with it, and I sunk quite a bit of time in, but I found Black Ops to be the superior MP experience.

god damn mother fuckers!

I just want to say that the care package glitch was the greatest thing OF ALL TIME.....

Also FAMAS TILL THE ENDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD OF TIMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Remember going 63-2 in Afghan one time. Ground War domination.

Fuck yeah, Ground War Domination was by far the most fun gametype. So many targets for OMA Pro Pipe!

And so people don't think I'm bullshitting about loving MW2 and all the glitches I listed above, here's my 360voice profile where you can see Days Played for all games in my 360 library. Compare the days for MW2 to BO1... so yeah BO1 sucked ass to me.

Man, MW2 was awesome, last time I truly enjoyed the series. Yes it had it's imbalances, but that's part of what made it so fun for me. Fighting against or abusing the OP stuff was great :)

Fuck MW2 and its game ending killstreak. Such a stupid idea.
Some of the greatest moments I had included a nuke, once won a game while being on a shit team with 3 seconds to go, just getting out of the chopper kill streak and use it was one o those all time greatest moments in gaming for me, mostly it was just kicking another team when they were already down =/ missile, harrier and pave low we're my go to killstreaks.

Come on guys we all know Black Ops multiplayer was the best with dynamic maps that weren't gimmicky in any way, explosive crossbows, the ability to customize your gun with purple heart-shaped sights, a killstreak that lets you see where the enemy team is at at all times, and knives that could shoot out knives.

Don't forget the best addition to the series ever, CoD Points:
