With Zelda U delayed to 2017, would Skyward Sword HD in Fall 2016 quench your thirst?

Skyward Sword didn't even quench my thirst the first time around.

No that's not true, I was done with all the bullshit filler in the game halfway in. I guess it didn't whet my appetite enough to even make me thirsty.

Absolutely not.

A minish Cap remake in the vein of Zelda U would be wonderful. Such an underappreciated Zelda game.

Gotta get those Keystones.

I need to get around to replaying Minish Cap. That game looked gorgeous, I just remember it feeling too easy.

no, even then impossible. the controls were designed specifically for the wii remotes and nunchucks, i don't see them changing the entire control scheme for the wii u

besides that, skyward swords problems weren't visually, because it had a great art style. the mind boggingly long tutorial, the constant handholding and the very annoying fi were its biggest problems. which i highly doubt nintendo would improve.

I would love an HD version of SS simply because the Wii was not able to truly showcase the beauty of the artstyle. Even Dolphin can not replicate what Nintendo wanted to achieve because the 'watercolor' filter looks terrible upscaled, it would have to be redesigned from the ground up. Not to mention the jaggies everywhere, and muddy textures. Also fixing the little annoyances (Fi etc) would transform the game.

It is the only console Zelda I have never beaten. I might be interested in it but it isn't going to quench anything. The Wii U software lineup has been bone dry for far too long.

While I'd love to replay SS with a couple of the same usability tweaks from the other remakes, it's a bit too soon. Also, it's more risky as it would have to use Wii Remote controls unless it was a more substantial remake.

If the controls are normal and not shitty gimmicky sure.

I mean it's obviously not enough and this year will still be shitty for Nintendo consoles, but at least I will be able to actually play it(I didn't bother fixing the controls for the dolphin)

I can see them doing this... but they're likely not going to change what people want. Personally all I'd want is no motion controls and way less Fi. That's enough to make the game pretty much perfect for me

Might look bad when you realise there's been 3 zelda remakes on the wii u before a new zelda game came out. I hope for Nintendo sake they have some support for the wii u owners because this might lead to a lot of negativity.

Nope.

I cannot fucking believe that the Wii U will be Nintendo's first console without an exclusive Zelda game.
Virtual Boy doesn't count.

What the fuck are they doing.

I think something that's hard to find/get nowadays like Four Swords Adventure could be cool as a quickie remaster on the Wii U. Just make it so you can hook up your 3D's wirelessly to the Wii U in place of the GBA's and let the odd-person out use the Wii U pad (or alternatively act as 'dungeon master' to the other four Links).

I'd buy it and play it, but it can't replace a new Zelda. And I'd rather have Skyward Sword HD on NX anyway.

If we were to get a Wii remaster, I'd want Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. Or Mario Galaxy HD. They'd both work well with the gamepad and pro-controller.

No, it was the only Zelda game to make me truly bored. I felt as I was playing it because I had to, not because I wanted to.

It will not "quench my thirst", but I highly welcome it if there is an option for using the Pro controller. Also: a quieter Fi and the removal of the annoying and unskippable item/rupee info/notification.

Hmm pass, Twilight Princess HD was fun but the last time I played it was 10 years ago so I was fine in rebuying it but not for Skyward Sword as that is recent.

I will however take a new Zelda title for the 3DS as Triforce Heroes was just garbage.

Unless they rebalance the game to work without motion controls, no.

That would require them to remake Skyward Sword from the ground up as the entire game is built around motion control.

Trying to recapture the strong launch that the Wii had when Twilight Princess was a launch title.

Plus Zelda games are taking longer and longer to develop, especially when we include the handheld Zelda games.

The only way I'd be excited is if they adapted Skyward Sword to the n3DS. Not sure if all the controls could be mapped to the portable but it would be interesting to see if swiping on the touch screen would work for the game. Of course then there is the whole thing about if the n3DS could even run such a game, but they did port Xenoblade.

I'd absolutely buy it but this isn't going to happen. The game requires a Wii remote and nunchuck, ripping that out would ruin the game.

Nintendo has only released one game for the Wii U requiring the Wiimote plus Nunchuck. Wii Sports HD and it didn't do well at all.

People saying "take out the motion controls": give it up. They made a Zelda designed around motion controls.

It happened.

No, it actually happened. It's a done deal. Skyward Sword will forever require motion controls. There is nothing you or Nintendo can do to change that.

You either want that game, or you don't. But you don't get to demand they reinvent their game to your whim. Asking for more accurate controls is perfectly agreeable but beyond that, just accept it's not for you.

Probably wouldn't as it wasn't just the sword that was mapped to motion control, it was everything barring pressing A to Dash, talk/advance text, pressing Z to lock on, pressing C to go into first person view and pressing the start and select buttons to access the menu.

If they fix the controls, sure.

Fix would imply that the control was broken in the first place, they weren't and any attempt to "fix" it would just ruin the game as the entire game was built around motion control.

I'm playing in right now, and after 25 hours I am already tired and bored, even if I only play it on weekends. If I played it every day, I'd have quit already.

And this has never happened to me with a zelda, ever. I was pretty annoyed with Phantom Hourglass between not having traditional controls and forcing me to go back to that temple with the timer. This one is similar but even worse.

It would need to be seriously remade, given an alternative non motion control method (Which will mean redoing al the boss fights), and fix most of the annoyances (Fi, resistance bar. And even like that it would be pretty depressing. Not to mention that it has garnered enough bad reputation to impact future sales.

In any case, zelda fans will never be happy. They are still asking for a literal Ocarina of Time 2 (3 if you count Mask of Majora). Nothing that you make will make them happy. Too cartoony, too mature, too repetitive, no traditional controls... It's bad enough when Darksiders was a better Zelda than Skyward Sword.

They also made a DK game with bongos which was reworked into a game for normal controllers on Wii.

No thanks. I really didn't like skyward sword. Couldn't finish it the first time and really don't have much desire to try it again. I can wait for the nx and new zelda... Probably

I don't know. If Tantalus doesn't touch it and they don't go shortening everything I'd be all for it. Only real tweaks I'd want are the reset item notifications after restarts.

I rarely replay singleplayer games so no. However, it would be interesting to see SS screens in HD, as opposed to an emulator, with redone textures.

I would rather Nintendo first put back on the eshop Zelda Four Swords Anniversary Edition (why did you take this down and why don't you just charge for it) and secondly, revive and modify past BS Legend of Zelda games such as BS Legend of Zelda or Ancient Stone of tablets. The former would be an interesting 30th anniversary game because it is essentially a 16 bit remake (modified game) of The Legend of Zelda NES. The second part is dreams.

Essentially, I want access to LoZ games that I cannot legally obtain. I can play the others (with the exception of FSA on the GC) on recent consoles.

But it was leaked as a Wii eshop game, so you are not going to get a HD remake.
