Witness More Quality Polygon.com Journalism

When the people in charge include Gies and Grant, you can't expect better.

I'd say that's not necessarily fair, but I remember when the Pokemon X/Y review included fanart as a screenshot of Pokemon that are not in the game and Gies' reasoning was "I chose the screenshots and don't care about Pokemon, so I didn't know."

Between the aspect ratio debate and this I think I've had my internet stupid quota for the day, and I haven't even visited FB yet.

I actually thought of this when I read the thread but was too lazy to look for it lol

The developer should had chose his words more carefully, that's how the media works. Rookie mistake.

Yeah the developer should really work harder, otherwise next time the media might do their jobs properly. What the hell is Jonathan Blow thinking. Doesn't he know reporters are trying to fire off tweets with zero work or thought put in to them?

You'd think an editor would have looked over that.

Can't imagine how they let that through.

Because clicks.

In all honesty, they were probably just moving quickly, and got sloppy about checking it. But still.

Can this site be banned from GAF please?

Other sites have been banned for less. I think they stopped banning most sites, though, just the ones that linked to pirated content.

Edit: Come to think of it, "Chartz" is banned for posting false numbers. Now, what does Polygon give us?

Jonathan Blow: "Whew! Kickboxing makes for a great workout! I'll hit the hay for tonight :)"

POLEEGONE: "THE WITNESS IN DEV HELL?? CREATOR JON BLOW SWINGS AT STRANGERS IN FRUSTRATION, COLLAPSES FROM EXHAUSTION"

Breaking: Jonathan Blow sleeps in oxygen tent, which he believes gives him sexual powers.

I love how they even rounded down his speed run time.

I don't remember the last time I visited Polygon or Eurogamer. I've kinda lost interest in these gaming websites. They rarely offer something new.

I was interviewed once. Provided a few documents, statements, etc. None of my statements made it in as "interview" fashion but cherry picked quotes appeared from half-sentences that never meant what it read if a complete sentence was quoted.

Fuck the media (aka, The Scumbags). We have a large blacklist already and we just started PS4 development :|

I didn't think a small dev like me would get that kind of treatment but, hey, I'm not that bright.

Edit: Come to think of it, "Chartz" is banned for posting false numbers. Now, what does Polygon give us?

Chartz was horrible because numerical data is considered objective. People kept posting sales "data" from chartz thinking it was accurate in some way, but it turned it out the data is a complete fabrication until actual sales data from the publishers themselves come out. It wasn't worth discussing chartz data because it was perpetual "tales from Chartz's ass", at the very least waiting for publisher numbers would guarantee that's not fabrication. Hell, even publisher numbers come under scrutiny quite frequently ("Games SHIPPED or games SOLD??!?! HMMMMM!!!")

I wouldn't go that far

Place fucks up, take your lumps, improve for next time

Any degree of long-lasting glee at their fuck ups is off-putting.

I think it's the lack of improvement that puts people off. Not to mention that they're very careful to not admit to many of their mistakes to begin with.
