Wolfenstein: The Old Blood PC Performance thread

Apologies for bumping an ancient thread, but I'm wondering if anyone has played this on modern AMD hardware and Windows 10 (Creator's Update) and has advice on how to get it to run decently?

I've been doing some searching and have got it to a point where I can run it at around 40 ~ 55 FPS with a lot of the settings turned down at 2560x1440, but this level of performance is insanely low considering the hardware I'm running on.

Ryzen 1700x at 3.9 Ghz
32GB DDR4 3000 Mhz RAM
RX Vega 64 8GB GPU (roughly equivalent to Nvidia's GTX 1080)
Windows 10 Creator's Update

I've already done stuff like renaming the exe file and running it from there and even using Flawless Widescreen to get the game to go full screen outside of my monitor's native resolution, but I can't seem to find any grand solution that gets this game to run how it should.

I played Wolfenstein: The New Order on an i5 2500k with a Radeon 7970 way back when it came out and I remember getting 60fps with mostly max settings at 1080p, so it's kind of insane that this game's performance is so awful. Does it have something to do with Windows 10?

I've just loaded it up to check and I'm seeing 40-60 FPS at 2560x1440 on Ultra. I'm running;

Ryzen 1700 at 3.6 Ghz
16GB DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM
Nvidia 970 (4GB) GPU
Windows 10 Creator's Update

I've been a little dissappointed with game performance given this is a fresh build, over my 5 year prior build, and have noticed that multitasking kills performance significantly. That goes especially so for browser tabs. Going from 4 to 8 Firefox tabs can see a decrease of 10fps on Wolfenstein just trying it now :S

After playing for a little while I was seeing close to solid 60fps on interiors, it's just the external areas that dropped it down to 40-60 flucuating range. No idea why it appears capped at 60.

Huh... I'll try closing some browser tabs and see if that does anything.

Seems like shit performance isn't tied to AMD cards. Maybe just AMD CPUs?

Game runs like complete shit on everything but the best. 1070 user and cannot even do 1440p properly with ultra. And for this game i need to as image quality is terrible without SS.
