Woman has sex with random people while sleep walking

I still don't fully understand how such complex behaviour (I'm really thinking about driving and other activities) is possible without being conscious. I get that a lot of these tasks are routine and as such we've been conditioned to perform them without thinking, but to walk, drive and interact with other people while asleep?

Someone is bullshitting.

These cases seem extreme. But I lived in an apartment complex when I was younger (like 7 or 8) and my mom (and my friend who was also woken up across the way) that I sleepwalked (sleptwalked?) out of our house, down a flight of stairs, and was banging on the laundry area's door to "let me in mom, why did you lock the door to my room?" or something of that nature.

I would assume if it can happen at that level there are extreme cases of it. But yeah, the interaction part is what is weird, it's almost bordering on multiple personalities IMO (although probably clinically completely different).

Next time I get into trouble I'm going to just "snap out of it" and be like "WHOA! How did I get here?! Must have been sleepwalking!"

I've always assumed it's like being blackout drunk without the drunk part. (Hence, the ability to be high-functioning.)

There it is..I'll be on my way.

Once when I was younger, my parents found me having a shower, complete with pyjamas on, at about 3 am in the morning. When they asked me what I was doing, I said I was looking for sea-shells. I had absolutely no recollection of this on waking up the next morning.

The most complex case of sleepwalking I saw was my cousin when I went to visit his house when I was a kid. One day I'm sleeping in his room, and he suddenly starts saying "Stop Adam (his older brother), Adam ow! Stop hitting me! Don't chokeslam me Adam!" And for like, 20 minutes, begged his older brother to not use a whole array of wwf moves on him. His brother did that a lot, motherfucker used to chokeslam me all the time!

Anyway, in the morning my cousin was found asleep on the kitchen floor with his blanket.

wait, so during her "sleep walking", she's inviting random guys to her place to fuck them......AND still be conscious enough to use condoms....

wut?

sounds BS to me.

I have a friend who was on a business trip to Houston a few years ago, he woke up on the roof of the hotel in nothing but his boxer shorts. He had to go down to the lobby and gt them to let him back into his room.

neither or, sleepwalking can be very weird, and if she also sleep talks, then that could lead her actually asking for sex. Now obviously it's a slippery slope, but with how common it is for people to have sex, do you honestly get surprised that something like this would happen?. People have been known to drive cars, and cook food while sleeping. propositioning for sex, especially with males, does not seem that hard.

How clear is sleep talking, usually? If it's anything like what my roommates do, it not only sounds like they're extremely tired, but it's also a bunch of gibberish that makes no sense.

When my cousin did it as a kid, it just sounded like he was awake. It was weird.

The only reason I slightly believe some of these sleepwalking stories is my older son has night terrors and he says and does some of the strangest things during these. Intially it was just screaming like during a nightmare but he can actually open his door and ask questions, answer them and then not remember any of it the next day. He is completely freaked out when he wakes up fully from it which it's hard to tell when it happens. I really hope he grows out of it so it scares me to hear stuff like these sleepwalking stories. Really hope these are two different things.

Isn't the real question then assuming she was really sleep walking etc. what the hell the other person who had sex with her was doing? I mean wouldn't it be obvious she isn't in the right state of mind to give consent and thus she was raped?

On one occasion, her partner awoke to find her missing, went searching for her and found her engaged in the sex act.

Umm, omg err... I.. I sleep walked over here and omg I don't know how it happened. Please believe me! I talked in my sleep as a teenager so it makes sense.. right?

Wasn't this a Law and Order: SVU episode? I could have sworn I saw just this plot...

There was a b-plot in an episode of House that featured this.

My parents tell me I had what sounds like the exact same thing as a kid. I would apparently be really freaked out by something, leave my room and talk about it with them. They said I would complain of "flying triangles" coming for me. And I would get really freaked out if I woke up during the night terrors. I have barely any memory of this. I grew out of the night terrors when I was still really young and I've had no sleep problems since.

People have driven cars and made food while sleepwalking, it's not too silly to assume that someone would have sex while sleepwalking

I have seen this. A relative of mine made food, brought it to the dinner table and finished it all. He then put the plate in the sink and went back to sleep. I tried talking to him while this was going on, but he completely ignored me. I talked to him the next day about it and he had no idea what I was talking about.

Good to hear you don't have issues now, night terrors are freaking awful to go through as a parent. I get sleep paralysis (scariest f'ing thing ever, I know we have threads on it here ocassionally) and have restless leg so maybe sleep issues just run in my family unfortunately.

depends on the sleepwalker

Ive seen 2 sleep talkers have conversations with each other. Too someone who has a rare case like this, there might be a chance that she could be fully fluent during sleeptalking

...the only part of this story that's hard the fathom is the fact that she's hooking up with these men in her home.

--Who are these men?
--How is she contacting them?
--How is she able to seek them out, proposition them, and get them back to her place for sex, all without alerting her husband and/or betraying the fact that she's in a sleep state?

...I'm not sure I buy it.

Never underestimate sleep walking, an old friend of mine fell out of a window whilst sleep walking and he passed away.

I know a woman that walked straight out a window in the stairs at a hotell (she opened it before), waking up two floors below with cracked ribs and a broken leg.

However I could imagine the story in the op being the matter of a person lying because they got caught.

It's not entirely out of the question for at least some of the men to decide to use condoms all by themselves you know.

I don't buy it at all. I see a husband who desperately wants to believe and professionals exploiting the situation.

Wifey is more likely than not a naughty bird.

So, he just stood there and let them continue screwing? Or did he stop them and question/beat the crap out of the guy having sex with her?

How many times has she done this? How did they make sure that she didn't do it again while she was being treated? Did they handcuff her to her bed?

If it was fake, why would she leave the condoms in her apartment complex?

This story is lacking in information. You'd think that we'd have more information on it since the article is from 2004

some of the posts here are certainly thought-provoking:

a woman propositions you for sex. you agree. even have the responsible thought (lol) to use a condom. you do the deed.

and you are still considered a rapist.

men are going to have to carry an EEG reader on them at all times. a no is definitely a no, and a yes is now a maybe.

Honestly sounds like bullshit. Some people really do eat while they sleep, but that's such a complex series of actions I can't really buy it. Especially given the attendant circumstances - remembering to use condoms, etc.

Yeah I'm with you on this one. It really sounds too far fetched.

How did they prove she was sleepwalking?

The monitored her sleep, found she got aroused in deep sleep, combined with her talking in her sleep and/or sleep walking. If someone's been lying but coincidentally have those traits, it'd be an incredibly unlikely coincidence.

How she found someone to have sex with while sleepwalking is the real travesty.

My mom sleeptalks and it's always some short sentences, not very coherent
usually she was arguing with someone over god knows what in her dream
it also sounds like she is very tired or is drunk

idk how the woman in the op supposedly was able to interact with people while sleepwalking

Yeah I was gonna say this sounds like rape. She wasn't technically consenting so the people should probably be charged if they can be found.

In those guys defense, how they should know that she has been sleepwalking? I mean if a nice looking woman comes to my home and offers her body for guilty pleasures, obviously I would not say no, but the day after tomorrow I would be considered a rapist?
