Women As Desktop Backgrounds

It really depends on the context of the image. If it's some anime girl in a bikini bending over, my immediate thought is usually, "That guy has never touched a woman." If it's a tasteful headshot or something more artsy, I'm probably not going to feel odd about shaking his hand without gloves on.

okay I had a space background, but now since I beat ME2 on Insanity I think I've earned the right to use an N7 desktop background. I have one in mind, but there is another one I'm considering

Any thoughts?
Put it up bro, unless your worried about online posters thinking you're tacky and beat off to your wallpaper.

Not sure where this falls, but I've had pictures of my gf as the background for my phone a couple times, and I've been tinkering with editing some... various photos into real wallpaper's for my desktop. So far... I suck at photo editing >.>

I usually make it my policy not too because it can be kinda creepy (I'm currently rocking the Halo: Reach Windows 7 theme), but every once in awhile I indulge in some T-Swizzle.

And I might make an exception for Brittany Snow if I can ever find a bigger version of this picture:

Taylor Swift is a classy lady. Much admiration for her.

...If you think any of the desktops I post in the desktop thread are creepy, you creep me out
Anyone know what widgets those are? Namely the weather widget, cpu/ram usage widget, and the program launcher.

Stealth wallpaper sharing thread in disguise?

I am using a Google Notebook right now so no desktop, but on my PC I would do anything from astronomy pics, to a woman I was into at the moment. With the women pics I do try to keep it classy though.

That Tron Olivia Wilde one is pretty awesome though.

EDIT:

Looks like Rainmeter to me, running a few skins, the one on the right being the Win 7 phone skin that someone below me who remembers will link to.

Summer Glau's face is my wallpaper. It just makes me feel happy when I minimise all my windows and see her looking back at me.

Don't see how that's weird.

Did you do that on purpose? Summer Glau wallpaper isn't weird but you made that sound creepy as fuck.

I kiss my desktop and I don't think it's really odd. It's a sign of love and attention. But haters gonna hate.

You think thats weird. You should see what happens when you find a computer that has a videoplayer set up on it to randomly play movies from someone's porn folder for their screen saver.

kinda sad that this thread has more replies than the current desktop thread :(
It's annoying how people don't source or at the very least post the version of the wallpaper they have in that thread and people don't help with Rainmeter font woes. >:[

I don't like them as my desktop picture, but for a while I did have custom Konfabulator (And later Bowtie) widgets with rotating pictures of my favorites. Not anymore though as it never really served any purpose and I found myself never even looking at them. They were just there for decoration.

What is wrong with having an aesthetically pleasing background
Pictures of boys in tank tops are fine.

Most of the time I don't care what my background is, 99.9% of the time while I'm on my computer I don't see it. Probably only look at it as I start it up or shut it down.

It's kind of like having posters splattered all over your room - dude, we know you're straight - don't have to prove it!

I always found these kind of immature and tacky. As a matter of fact, currently it's the first time I had a picture of a woman as a wallpaper, but it's a shot from Inglourious Basterds of Shosanna sitting at the cafe reading a book :lol

There's no way to escape definition...What I mean is whether or not a "t-shirt" has a name on it or not is irrelevant. When others see you they automatically begin to define you by both how you look and what you say. Even if one were to only wear minimalistic clothing ala Philip Glass people would still be able to draw cues from that...They might think you're antisocial, rebellious, reclusive, or a pseudo-intellectual.
Yeah, I get that, but to me if you wear clothes with no branding, any conclusions anyone draws about you are going to be random guesses, and it's far easier to say that you're wearing something just because it's aesthetically pleasing. On the other hand, I think it's a lot easier to tell something about a person who wears clothes with a brand of some kind or that fit a certain style, and it's a little harder to convince someone you're wearing something just because you like the way it looks when it's obviously branded.

You're right of course that people will try to draw conclusions about anything you openly present about yourself, but I think the reason that that is the case is because very many people are trying to say something about themselves with the things they present openly. I think too that people don't put nearly the same thought into picking a wallpaper that they do with what car they drive or clothes they wear, so a lot of the time when people stereotype someone for being creepy or tacky for having a swimsuit model for a wallpaper, they're probably criticizing something that the person spent five seconds looking for and doesn't even see anymore since, like I said earlier, who really ever just sits and appreciates their wallpaper?

I never have women on my desktop. If anyone else sees it then it's probably a bit weird, and I make this assumption based on how I feel when seeing girls on other people's desktops. Also, if a girl were to see it, it would either be awkward, or she'd be all like "oh, am I as pretty as her?" and I can't just say "lolno, that's Jewel Staite, bitch!".

I have some backgrounds where there's a girl on there somewhere with other stuff going on in the image, but I'd find a picture of just a person pretty boring.

If you aren't in a relationship I see nothing wrong with it.

A nice looking girl with a nice smille can brighten any day. ;) just put something that makes you smile as WP.

I have a hot women theme for Windows 7 it shuffles through like 100 pictures. I find women attractive, deal with it.

Creepy? They probably posed for that picture they are in TO BE looked at. Women enjoy the fact they are sexy, they really really do. Grow up, welcome to the world.
Exactly. Deal with it.
What's next? A "I find people who faps to nude girls creepy" thread?

I find it creepy when guys use hot women/girls as avatar. I don't even know what's the point behind it. Do you want that people confuse you for a girl?

Plenty of examples in this thread btw.
